so I took my truck to 4Wheel parts had a Revtek lift installed when I was driving home I could hear a rattling sound and the brake felt funny. I made it home and after looking I noticed my right side front brake caliper missing one bolt and hanging on barely by the other. Would they have had to mess with the brake to do a spacer lift in the front? The pre-delivery inspection paper skips over caliper bolts tightened. Is this a 4Wheel parts issue or dealer?

Yes the calipers have to be removed in order to install the lift...Sounds like they provided workers not skilled in the tasks assigned to them.

Not to be a dick, but for the love of god man: brake caliper. Not break caliper
For example, "If you keep driving without getting this fixed, you run the risk of breaking your brake caliper, and several other things."

Now, I would say call up the guys who installed/ did the work and ask them. Maybe they took them off just to do a quick inspection, or get them out of the way. Im not really sure about that part. :notsure: But either way I wouldnt drive the truck like this.

Edit: and certainly give the rest of the truck a quick look over to make sure nothing else looks out of palce

Maybe the person working on the brake took a break and forgot to check the brake when they were done with their break?

You don't need to do anything with the brake system to install the suspension. Did you pork someone's lover that works there and they are trying to get revenge?

Brake caliper/rotor/pads ect, do NOT have to be removed to do a spacer lift. But....Any mechanic that should be working on anyone's truck, even something as simple as changing a tire should be able to spot a caliper falling off. From there, they should have NOT sent you back out on the road with the truck. Even if it was ORIGINALLY a dealer mistake, their "out" is they were NOT the last person to work on the truck Ball is in 4WP's court at this point.

    Good luck.

Okay here is how it all went down. 4Wheel parts sent a tow truck no charge, they fixed their mistake, they are replacing damaged wheel and refunding all labor cost. Yes it was a F***up but they did step up and handle it like a pro. Never did ask if it was common place to remove caliper during install but I’m satisfied thanks for everyone’s input. Happy trails
