I wish Tyler hadn't been banned so we could have seen him in here lurking at who bought all his stuff. I have no doubt they came on TW to check that out. Well, looks like BAMF's goodwill just went through the roof. They'll definitely be who I look to first.

So will BAMF laser scan these Pelfreybilt bumpers to replicate and sell them under their name?

Obviously Pelfreys bumpers were a hot item on TW. I have not seen to date a huge high clearance rear bumper preorder like I did the Pelfreys. If I were an off road vendor I would certainly take all the hot selling Pelfreybilt items and replicate and improve the design if needed to make stronger and better and sell them under my name if I won this auction. Why redesign the wheel if there is no longer a hot selling item on TW? Seems like a win/win to me. I even liked Pelfrey bilts website, much better than many other vendors websites.

    Is this the overall plan?

I applaud BAMF for trying to help out TW members that got hosed by the Pelfrey's, but in the end BAMF is a business that wants to make money and I am sure there is more to the story that will profit BAMF in the future for buying this auction. I really hope so, as I want BAMF to grow and be a successful business that makes superior reliable products for the Tacoma community.

BAMF grew well beyond the toyota market a long time ago, if anything toyotas get in the way of his real market. This was purely for the community for @JLee as dealing with all this product is going to be a big pain until its finally finished and shipped out.

All that auction was for was the abandoned property left in a rented building. The design of those items is Intellectual Property that are assets of Pelfreybilt Inc and subject to the bankruptcy proceedings.

It's a good deed to help those that got fucked, but this is a profit deal. No one goes into this to lose money.

    Props to both J's

Agreed and I hope that they can make some money as this is alot to take on unless they are millionaires to begin with...not saything that they arnt. To even entertain the possibility to correct this for some folks IMO is huge. Probably the first time I have been apart of a forum/community where something even remotely this grand of a jesture has taken place...I applaud them both for taking the risk to bid and win it!

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I don't believe it's the initial intention. But there is some profit to be made, like if the machinery is part of the deal or not. Also the proprietary design of some of the parts could now be JLee's. But 90% of this deal was to make sure people got righted when a company who made money from this forum wronged them.

I also don’t think they were expecting to pay 131k. I think at 40-50 they could have made it all right and what not and still been able to turn a profit. But at the sell price I have to imagine that they will need to recoup some money.

I would think that everyone who got screwed would have a cost to get stuff (deeply discounted) so that there is some money to be recouped.

    Someone said it.
I'm sure they'll help those that were screwed, and the logistics/risk/time they're taking to do it is nice. But like you said, I'm sure there's more to the story. No one's gonna take thousand dollar losses as charity.
If that were the case, why not just donate to those that didn't get an order. Even if there is other motivation, it doesn't cancel out what the good deed they will do for those that got robbed.

Im totally with you, I think the fact that there is some potential profit was likely considered in making this deal...as you said though I dont think they would have been as interested if it were not for the folks in a bad situation to begin with that they chose to personally fix. This is great news man.

You know how easy it is to modify a steel bumper right?
Not much to patent/protect there. Take the baseline dimensions, change a couple bends. Done

Seemingly, they could create a charity, donate the product to charity, with the business getting a write-off.

They in turn sell some product at a discount, give some away to members that were ripped off, and come out nearly even when considering the tax savings.

    But IANAL.
