Name that part! (bonus points for part number)

Looking for a part number for this bracket that attaches to the throttle cable linkage on a 5VZ-FE. The mechanics seem to have broken it while replacing VC gaskets and didn't tell me.

in case anyone else comes across this thread, the correct part number according to Conicelli Toyota is
78183-35030 or 78183-35050 depending on the VIN. My truck is drive by wire so maybe that makes a difference - 35050.

I'm still having a hell of a time figuring out what parts to order to fix this. Pretty much missing all of it. Looks like multiple pieces looking at the diagram.

 

Would you be willing to share what you paid for this repair? Not trying to rain on your parade here, but if they were sloppy enough to break that bracket, I wonder what else they could have screwed up while doing the job. Do you know if in addition to replacing the valve cover gaskets they replaced the cam plugs on the rears of the heads, resealed the front and rear half moons on each head and replaced the spark plug tube grommets? If not, paying for this repair might have been a waste of money.

Do you have the time, space, tools and desire to do your own automotive work? If so, a repair like this was well within your capability. The person who's going to do the best job working on your rig is you because you're invested in your vehicle and you're not going to be in a hurry to get to the next job because you're flat rate mechanic. Dealerships and private shop mechanics screw up on a fairly regular basis as you've personally experienced. The fact that they broke that throttle cable bracket and didn't tell you about it speaks volumes to their integrity. If I were you, I would never bring my rig back to that shop again.

When I brought it in, I wanted them to redo the valve clearances as well (way over my head). So that's why I didn't do it myself. I had ordered all the parts already from Toyota and they installed them. That included new gaskets, half moons, cam plugs, spark plug grommets, gasket sealer, all the goodies. The shop is fairly reputable place for Toyotas but I failed to noticed this broken part until just now. It's a silly part really, but I don't like how my throttle cable is now touching my upper intake plenum.

I may jerry rig something or look for an aftermarket part that'll get the job done.

Labor for JUST VC gasket replacement was $400 (in 2018 dollars)

 

I'm going to help my friend Jordan check the valve clearances on his 2.7 liter 4 cylinder engine very soon and we will video it. The steps necessary to check and correct the clearances would be the same for the 3.4 liter V6. The main differences is it's more work to get the valve covers off of the V6 and that you obviously have a couple more cylinders to do.
