Alright guys. So I’m debating ordering that new CSF radiator upgrade. Curious as to what temps you guys are getting if you run an ultra gauge or scan gauge? I’m reading between 185-196.8. 196.8 mainly in the summer ac on blast in traffic. Seeing if it’s worth the upgrade of my cooling system isn’t really getting that strained.

Not really relevant to you since I'm 1st Gen, but the OGT strays into the low 190's on hot days with the A/C running driving on mostly neighborhood roads under 40 MPH with a radiator that's probably about 2/3rds plugged with JB Weld. I need a new one but I'm not adequately satisfied with my proof of concept with my radiator armor (to keep the fan from hitting it when crossing deep water). Once I am, I'll get a new radiator, but given all the other problems I'm having, that's way down on my priority list.

Right on man. Yea low 190’s seems to be the average number. Which makes me hesitant to really spend the money on an upgrade.

I say do it. Getting close to 200* makes me nervous. I can explain mine away because only about 2/3rds of my second row is flowing coolant. I expect that to drop a lot with a new radiator. Next to electrical problems, I hate cooling problems most. That's probably why I have a rod knock now...I mean, I was pretty sure the bottom end was getting loose, but before I installed my scan gauge, I cooked the engine until it stalled out and my temperature gauge never read it was hot (probably due to lack of coolant getting to it, since my fan knocked a hole in my radiator and basically leaked all the coolant out).

Unless you have something better to spend the money on, I'd do it for the peace of mind that I could tow shit in hot weather with the AC going and not have to worry about it. That's just IMHO. Hell, if you're automatic, I'd get a big trans cooler to put in it too. Might do that with the T4R.

Being on the turbo for a 4 hour drive I sit around 193. 190 is the warmed up temp on any day. My trans needs some tlc though my torque converter lock up solenoid needs to be replaced so it's temps can get hot rn.

Well I ordered it :)! At $490 for the radiator and thermostat kit with the 160 thermostat, I can beat that for piece of mind!

I wa alright brother. I’ve been in almost 10 and and somewhat responsible with my money and saved. It’s the new e3-e4 with a $700 car payment and no saving that felt the pain. Aswell as the families living on single income and 3 kids :/

One FM Super 50 - Arrived. I really don't envy those guys at Rainbow Mufflers. That tail pipe on the T4R looks like it'll be a bitch to make the way it's threaded through all the crap going on back there, but they've probably seen worse.

Looking for tire recommendations. Gonna be pulling the trigger on some 37s in a week or two. Trying to decide on A/T vs M/T and which brand. Noise and treadlife aren't big concerns since the truck sits a lot and I only drive about 10k miles per year.

Edit to add that I want a radial tire, so swampers are out. Ahem.. Lee.. :D

M/T all day. Really though, just pick a brand. I have not noticed a whole lot in off-road performance in all the different tires I have ran (Trepadors, MTZ's, Toyo MTs, LTB's, Nitto Mud Grapplers), the only difference is on road manners (and the only reason I say M/Ts is because you are going big with a 37 and you are obviously going to do most of your off-roading in Florida/southeastern states where mud is everywhere).

Swampers come in radials. :luvya: I would recommend what I plan to put on Natty, the Trxus M/T. I had them on my F250 and they rode like a Cadillac, but even on a truck a little over half the weight, 10k a year will probably wear them down pretty fast. Only reason I'm putting them on Natty is because I only put about 2k a year on her, so longevity time-wise is more important and I got 9 years out of the set on the F250 before they dry rotted. Most other brands, you're lucky to get 4 years out of.

That said, my Nitto Trail Graps, did pretty good at Citrus last weekend...even on the slick corner of 8 and 19 (once I put it in 4WD). Those or Toyo M/Ts (basically the same tire) will probably work good for you, IMHO.
