Is anyone worried about pinion angle on the 5.29s especially on the 8" sport rear end? That had me real concerned back in the day ( I have a 2016) There wasn't much real world information with this truck at the time I re-geared so I went with 4.56s with 33.5" tires. With armor and gear I ended up grenading the rear anyway and now have 4.56s in a 9" rear end. I would have gone 4.88s at that point but the front would have had to be redone. All that said, I'm happy with the setup (gears, tune, responsiveness, and gas mileage)

Yeah, and add this one to the mix: Back when we were testing for 1.04, I had stuttering or brief hesitations in quick succession under certain conditions. IIRC, it was 2500-2800 under moderate to heavy load. I was logging for Mat at the time, and didn't see missfires during these events. He sent me another file, and bingo - stuttering was gone. The culprit - VVT. My truck couldn't decide if it wanted to be in Atkinson or Otto in that narrow RPM range according to Mat.

Yep, had the same thing but not quite as bad. The VVT can cause some very strange behavior by itself.

I've used a similar feature in my EcuTek/BRZ to switch between boost settings. I can see this being useful for the truck! For example, daily drive on 87, then switch to the 91/93 map (while filling up too, of course) for the extra bump in power when towing or something.

Since it’s a wheel speed sensor it doesn’t make any sense. I was throwing a hypothetical with the gps which isn’t a reality.

So this might have been asked before - but can you run the 93 octane tune on 91 octane at higher altitudes? Take for example Winter Park, CO at over 9000'...I don't think the town offers 93. Is there an approximation/table for octane rate of change like there is one for tire pressure at altitude and/or lower temps ?

Wouldnt it be better if drive was the MPG mode, ECT was the performance, and the gear locking was engaged through the S mode? That way you could essentially have either MPG mode or Sport mode and lock the gears.

Since these trucks pass a fair amount of road/engine noise into the cab, shouldn't detonation be audible? I used to have a Harley that pinged until I replaced its carb jets with larger ones. That thing sounded like someone put a coffee can full of ball bearings in a paint mixer every time I cracked the throttle more than half open - no way to mistake it for something else. I also remember several POS American cars my parents had when I was a kid in the 70s. The pinging in those was more muted but still a very distinctive, easy to hear sound.

I found a way last night to run windows 10 on a mac. Took me about an hour to download and 20mins to erase. It uses up 48gb minimum of your laptop and you can restart it, hit alt/option, and choose between your windows or MAC OS. I deleted it right away, but it is possible. Idk that I might wanna give up that much GBs...

To create more hype and tease? There's been a lot of that the past few days. Teasing on Valentine's day should be illegal..........
