You could also install everything but the belt and then just put the belt on after the reflash

Making bypass stay open is also a good idea

Absolutely. Everyone’s needs are different. For me, the 60 was perfect.

I have a shackle flip, Dakars, and B110s right now. Once this round of mods is done, I’m leaving this thing alone for the forseable future. I just need to wheel the damned thing.

I only started that thread to let people know that there was another option out there. ECGS hadn’t advertised it previously.

Oh for sure it is a great option for probably a good handful of people. My buddy actually tagged me in that thread and I took a look, but not right for me. I assume you went with 4.88 gears?

    That’s a funny story...

Last Spring I ALMOST did 37s. The only thing that stopped me was that I didn’t want to regear again. I had 35s and 4.56s then.

So I bought new 35” Cooper Pros. Then, I broke my rear Diff. ECGS was kind enough to regear it to 4.88s while they were fixing it under warranty, and did me a solid on doing the front as well.

A month after, I broke in my brandy new 4.88 ring gear.

So yes, now I have 4.88s and 37s

This will not be a problem at idle. The lack of larger injectors only become a factor as you introduce more demand for fuel based on boost.

If the person who you responded to has a boost gauge installed, I'd like to see what his current air fuel ratio is under higher larger loads, the band aid for that would obviously be to do FPR if his AFR's are too lean under boost to aid richening it up. The obvious solution is the 455's, however.

Felt WAY better than 33s and no boost :D

I have some baby tires that I put on when I get an alignment. Although over geared, that feels much better than both.

At this point, with 130 lb wheels and tires, I’ll probably need all the boost just to be driveable...

Honestly, I now whish I’d stopped at the 2.85 pulley and stage 2 tune. That’s enough to make the truck OK to drive.

Anything else is a waste of money on a 6000 lb ish truck with 130 lb 37s IMHO. It’s never going to be fast.

Well, Hunter S. Thompson said it best (change the topic in his text to your truck)"

“We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.”

That’s what I’m running and it’s fine. Going from 33’s to 35’s with the same gearing makes you notice it though. Hence why I don’t think 4.88’s and 37’s will be enough.

@HolyHandGrenade how do the 4.88 and 37’s compare to the 4.56 and 35’s?

No idea. Haven’t driven the truck since Oct.

It seemed perfect with 35s and 4.88s TBH.

You know? I say that, but towing the trailer to Moab, I was happy to have every single pony.

Don’t listen to me. Best advice I can give :D

Ahh well you’ll have to report back after you drive it with 37’s. I already know 4.88 and 35’s are perfect because I have 4.56 and 35’s and it needs just a bit more gearing.

I certainly will. It’ll be another couple of months probably.

I’m in NH right now because my Mother fell. Concussion, broken rib, etc. no work on the truck for a week or so.

Ouch, well hope she heals up. You mentioned Moab a few times, where you at? I’m in AZ but get up that way at least once a year or so. Have another option now that my parents bought a place in sand hollow

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Sorry to hear that about family @HolyHandGrenade. I have been on 4.88s and 35s for quite a while now. 35s are Duratracs. Going to go larger shortly, but the only thing I can’t stand is 2600 RPMs at highway speed crushing fuel mileage. A new LRA fuel tank helps with that now, but boost and 4.88s will suit my needs fine with 37s.

ive now heard 4.88s and 35s is a bit much for an auto multiple times. That 37s match the 4.88s are much better especially for highway cruising.

im not regearing till my shit breaks :crapstorm:

Thanks man. I’m staying up here so she can stay off her feet for at least a week.

I’m in NJ, so it’s a hike out there. I went to Rock Therapy the last two years. Totally killed wheeling over here for me. I love it out there.

It’ll be a couple of years before I go back most likely. My truck is moving from towing things to being towed.

I need to figure out what I want for a tow rig now.

    Thank you.

Tell me about it. Towing my trailer out last year, I checked my MPGs twice. Under 7 both times...

Granted, I was doing 75-85 MPH most of the way with a 2.55 pulley etc.

I had an auxiliary fuel tank setup though. That made it tolerable. Until the credit card bill came anyway...
