@Blackdawg whatever happened to getting your radiator recored like I used to do for all my GM and Ford Products back in the 70's and 80's. Is everything supposed to be disposable these days.

Well I did something for my Tacoma today, that I'd put off long enough. My windshield being 16 years old, had many, many, many small pits all over it. At night looks like starburst, and even worse when raining. So I had a local Glass company put me in a new windshield and I put new wiper blades on it. At least now, I'll be able to see clearly. Lifetime warranty on glass and installation.

Not sure anywhere out here will do that.

This radiator is all aluminum so once I pull it it should be possible to fix it. Depending on what actually caused the damage.

Oem radiators usually when they fail it's the plastic tanks and tubes that fail.

Why'd you call the police? Just swap information and move on. No need for a police report unless someone was seriously injured or they didn't have insurance or something...

Not trying to be an ass or disagree for the sake of disagreeing, but that’s bad advice. With as ‘lawsuit happy’ as people get these days, a police report might just be what saves a person from a legal battle that may end poorly.

    its worth the report.

I had a small love tap "accident" once in St louis. Id just moved from Wyoming. Got out, looked at both cars..nothing. Not even paint scratch. In my mind, it would have been a hand shake and apology and moved on.

Guy asked for my info so I gave. Didn't bother asking for theirs. Holy crap they came at my insurance for a TON of car damage..to the motor..tranny..this and that and whiplash blah blah blah..Couldn't believe it. Was a rude awakening for me on how horid people are these days to sue people for an easy pay day.

Thankfully they did a full investigation and it was fine for me and my rates didn't change. Was still so stupid. Would have been solved in a heart beat if Id done a police report.

yeah that storm hit us in MT last night. Only dropped about 4-6'' here. Nice today though mostly sunny at 14º so pretty good.

I called Champion 3 times today. First time left a meassage. Second I was told to call Champion directly(phone number on their site takes to you to their dealer) but they were on lunch so I waited a bit. Called back...Closed early due to local flooding?? Whatevs..

So try again tomorrow. Hopefully they will replace it and maybe I can fix this one to use in another truck.

Not sure really. It started steaming as I was pulling over. The temp gauge was pegged. It had been leaking a bit before that moment though I could tell.

Well either way, don't be to pessimistic until you dig in. Bad timing unfortunately no matter what.

You didn't blow a radiator cap did you:boink::D.

No as I know the caps that come with these have been know to leak. It was just coming out of the hole where ever that is exactly.

Nah it'll be fine. I just got the truck back. Going to swap in the oem one tomorrow and then I'll at least have it running. Fix the other truck up and hopefully get this radiator under warranty.

    It'll be fine.

Even if it's not. I have a motor lined up already. Haha

Not in all states. I was hit (in VA) and we exchanged info but his insurance was bad (he didnt have any but still had an old card) and he gave me a bad number.

I couldn't do anything because in VA if info is exchanged, it can no longer be considered a hit and run, even if its intentionally the wrong information. Its basically up to you and the civil courts at that point which requires you to hunt the guy down with nothing but his license plate. Unfortunately you cant get ppls information from the State without a warrant which is a impossible at this point. Additionally, if it goes to court, its all hearsay unless you have evidence; the best evidence being a police report that establishes blame.

There was a day when you could trust the other guy to own to his mistakes but in many places that's no longer the case.

Pro tip - Don't immediately say "Hey, I have a dash cam and recorded the whole thing" (or the like). On one hand that might tip a violent response trying to grab the cam and destroy the evidence and on the other, if you wait until police arrive and let them give their fraudulent series of events into an official police report then mention to the officer you have video evidence, that can really save the day and fuck the other party if they have outright lied to the police.
