I was backing up today and the sensor started beeping due to a pole behind, anyways I decide to move the car forward, so put it back in D, and as I cycle the gears back to P, when I got to R, I swear that instead of the backup camera, I saw the logo of a vehicle with sensors for the fraction of a second. Tried to replicate it multiple times but never popped up again.

The image or animation that popped up was depicting something similar to this.

Has it happened to anyone here? I wonder if Toyota planned to have some animation for the proximity sensor at one point and the left over code popped up for some reason.

I think I saw this too . Recall it showing up if the stick is held between park and reverse .

Interesting, so I wasn't going crazy after all:D

Wonder if that was the original idea instead of having it show up in the dashboard.

They probably figured people wouldn't be too happy to not be able to see the backup cam when this came up.
