Enzo has feline acne, we’ve tried all sorts of stuff but it doesn’t go away. We use stainless bowls for water and food, keep everything clean and pour out and replace their water everyday. The problem seems this little dumbass has to drink water with his chin dipped in, so I’m guessing that’s why it never gets better. My wife even applies neosporin on the regular (based on vet’s recommendation)

We have not changed his food recently.

I'm hoping it goes away with the antibiotics. I will admit we rarely change his food bowl or even clean it because he pulls the food out of it first before eating. He will cry that he wants food even if the bowl is full. So we grab some from the bowl and put it on the floor in front of it and he's cool with that.

My adventurous cat Rascal has a new hobby now , she likes to open all the lower cabinets and drawers in the kitchen

Yesterday I found one of the drawers next to the oven open . I looked inside and found a tail dangling from the drawer above . Opened that drawer and found Rascal laying there and looking at me like i disturbed her

Even late last night and early this morning you could here cabinets and drawers opening and closing constantly .She's done this since an early age and not sure if it's a trait of a Tuxedo cat !!

This was a couple months ago !!!!!

That exact scenario is how I came to own a cat. Freeway (RIP) was the name she was given for the obvious reason...

Opening cabinets and drawers isn't tied to one particular breed or marking pattern. Our Bella, a 2yr old Siamese Calico, was getting into everything she should, so we ended up putting baby latches on cabinets with chemicals and pots/pans the boss didn't want her in/on. We also had a small Maine Coon that did the same thing.

I truly believe that it's about the personality of the cat. The more adventurous and curious they are, the more apt they are to do this. I've also learned that this will become less frequent as they age.

As mentioned Rascal has been doing this since being a Kitten and now she's 9 yrs old . She hasn't been this adventurous in the kitchen until a few months ago . She does know how to open closet doors and shower doors and if a room door not closed all the way she can open it !!!

That Maine Coon I mentioned, Lexi, figure out how to open the horizontal lever doors! Our approach is that if what's behind the door/cabinet, etc. isn't dangerous to them, then let them have their fun and explore. The kitchen drawers you mentioned would only concern me if knives or other sharp objects are in there.

Regarding Rascal getting more and more apt with this, has something/anything changed in his environment? Especially around the time that this started? Maybe it's tied to more confidence, dominance, desire of looking for something, getting a better view to see something else? Is there a tall cat tree in the same room?

Not much has changed here since I moved here 2 years ago and as mentioned she's been opening sliding closet doors , room doors and my shower door here

Her climbing up onto the top of the cabinets as scene in the pic started back in late November and I've only seen her do this 3x's . Those kitchen drawers are empty and within her reach , she started doing this 3 days ago . The other drawers are full and heavy of non hazardous items and I seriously doubt she can open them . The cabinet doors she opens again only have pots and pans and she never goes inside . I think she just likes playing with the doors as it has a unique sound

There is 7' tall cat tree in the living room and (2) 5' tree's in the bedroom. I've got huge windows with the blinds open so there's plenty of things to see outside. Both Rascal and Gizmo both look out the kitchen window

The only thing I can think of is that Gizmo has been pouncing on Rascal about the same as what he did to Snickers . When Gizmo went after Snickers she would run away which triggered Gizmo to chase her . With Rascal she fights back at Gizmo and will chase him or swat him with her front paws

Gizmo is actually afraid of Rascal and have watched him walk cautiously by her . Maybe Rascal's recent kitchen exploration is maybe due to Snickers passing 4 months ago . Also both Rascal and Gizmo get equal playtime and both lay next to or on my lap

    Hmmm...

Very curious. How Gizmo and Rascal interacting sounds much the same as Breezy and Bella after Angel passed away. Bella, the new comer nonchalantly cruises around, but Breezy will give a low level growl or "grump" as I call it at Bella. Bella senses the attitude and will sometimes stand her ground and if Breezy opts to scoot to a different location, Bella's chase instinct kicks in, Breezy gets cornered, and the Cat Politics sometimes gets loud. If they hear either my wife or I heading their direction, Bella will scamper off to avoid getting in trouble or get squirted with the water bottle. If we catch Breezy early enough, we try to discourage her grumping with taps on her head and stern voices. And yes, they'll both sleep on the bed with us at night and be within 3 feet of each other with one on my lap and the other in the recliner next to me while we're watching TV. During breakfast, dinner, and snack times, you'd never know there was a problem.

My point is, I we're going through the same thing and it is lessening a bit as each week passes, but I don't want this going on for two years. I'm not sure of what other advise to give other than calling that cat guru fella on Animal Planet.

    Bitsy hogging the heat.

And Olivia. The Husband is her dude. She waits to hang out with him, and only acts like this for him. She loves her belly rubs.
