    It does seem like a peculiar name for a muffler shop, but maybe the owner is queer as folk or let his daughter name the place. Doesn't matter to me, the one time I had them do an exhaust for me, it was top notch work and fairly cheap. I'm willing to drive to Clearwater to have them work on my vehicle because they are the only shop I trust to get it done right. I couldn't care less if they were all giving each other BJs in the break room at lunch as long as the T4Rs exhaust is exactly how I want it.

    There's Interco tires I don't care much for. Iroks for instance, or the Trxus A/T, or the 9" wide Bogger. Just like I like Nittos and Toyos.

    I really don't get the concern about how heavy a tire is. Shit, we're mounting .250" steel skid plates and steel bumpers, sliders, bed racks, and all that other junk. Who gives a crap if the tires are 10 or 15 lbs heavier? ;)

    That argument still remains the same. I carry twice that or more around in my tool box on a daily basis. The plastic crate I put in the OG4 with my tools and recovery gear weighed probably every bit of 150 lbs. The OGT's front skid weighs around 60 lbs, the front bumper weighs about 80, plus it's getting 100 lbs of winch eventually. The trans mount/skid that will be going on it weighs 70 lbs. the rock sliders weigh 80 lbs. And then there's my not so fat as it used to be, but still heavier than 120lbs, ass. Some of you guys are probably running more than 120lbs of audio equipment.

    Really, as far as off-road rigs go, the only time the weight of the tires matter is when you have to pick one up to put it on.

    If you use that as an argument then you have to count all the extra weight in steel you've added too. All that effects your fuel economy as well. You either have an off-road rig that you daily drive, or a fuel efficient daily driver. Can't really have both in the same vehicle unless you strip all the armor and stuff off it after every off road trip and put it back on for the next one.

    Sounds like the Jeep Forum was having the same debate we're having here, haha. I'm with the guy that said he selects his tires based on traction and durability and that a heavier tire is probably a more durable tire. ;)

    Only time I will have a different opinion is when my back is hurting from taking those heavy bastiches on and off. :rofl:

    I think tire diameter has a far more critical effect on on-road handling than the actual weight of the tire.

    If you’re concerned with MPGs you’ve chosen the wrong vehicle and hobby. MPGs go out the window the second you decide to lift and add big tires and armor. 100lbs is 2% extra wight on a 5000lb vehicle. That’s not going to make a significant difference.

    FML, my new plugs and wires for the OG4 are "out for delivery" so I guess they should be here today. I wonder if I start with the only hard one to get to if it'll make the job seem easier? I just wanted to unplug and rest this weekend. :pout:

    Why buy a tire that weighs 10 lbs per tire more than another tire of the same size that has all the same benefits?

    Logically, one would assume that the heavier tire has more material and is thus thicker which results in a more durable tire.

    If this was a duratrac (or granted almost any other radial), you'd most likely have been replacing that sucker on the trial. Instead, it still holding air, although I do think the damage is pretty much terminal anyway with the cut cords. It got me home though and it's still driving around on the road.

    Not exactly new technology with new ruber compounds equal same rated tire that in returns is less weight. There is no advantage one will argue to having a heavier tire
