So I'm not sure what kind of trips I'm going to be able to pull off for a while, I'm good with that since I no longer have to worry about how I'm going to make my truck payments and wont have to sell any truck parts! I'm starting my new job on monday:D:taco:! Only thing I know for now is for the next ~2 months I probably wont be able to be gone more than sat/sun so trips will have to be short. Makes a HF's trip harder but we will see how things go. I should be able to pull of Jambo for fri-sun and possibly show up late thursday night.

Thanks! I've decided one of my main goals is to pay my truck off ASAP. Then i'll never have to worry about selling it if I ever end up in a situation like this again. I have something like 3.5 yrs left of payments but if I'm good with my money I can probably do it within 2 years. Maybe even faster if I am REALLY good with my money and stop buying so many mods. Hmm wonder what front bumper and suspensions I should buy next, after re-gearing...

I feel like I'll never pay off the Runner...Every month I tell myself to start making extra payments - but I haven't' done it. Maybe this month I'll start! I can't wait to have it paid off some day!

You probably arent far from where I am time wise if I had to guess. My payment might be lower though because I put down a huge down payment and my truck costs quite a bit less than your 4R new. I just checked and if I did double payments I would have it payed off in a little under 2 years. That would also basically mean no more mods because mod cash would go right into payments.

Good plan. I basically paid mine off before I did any serious mods.

    Debt is super gay.

idk why I can't remember how long I financed it for...but I took my loan out in June of 2017....I feel like I've hardly gotten anywhere. I need to do some math and see how what I need to do to get it paid off earlier. I don't see me doubling the payment though...that would be like a house payment!!

At times I feel I should have gone slower and lighter on the mods because I could have spent that money paying the truck down. I could have been under a yr away from payoff at this point had I done that. At the same time I bought the truck to get me out and being stock and sometimes going solo I didnt feel comfortable doing that. Now with where its at I still want more but I dont need more to be comfortable to get out on my own. Still prefer to have another rig or 2 with me but I'm confident that I wont do something too stupid and my trucks not getting stuck if I'm solo.

I figured you had yours before 2017. I got mine in Aug of 2016 with a 6yr loan. I wanted to do a 5yr loan but didnt like the monthly payment so took the 6yr option since I knew I could work just about any job and still be able to make the payments.

I got it July of 2016 - but I refinanced it in June of 2017 to get it in my name (post divorce) so the loan I have right now originated in June of 2017. For the life of me I can't recall how long I financed it for, but my payment is pretty hefty.

Ahh gotcha. I might look into refinancing mine if I can drop the interest a little more. Not sure the effort would be worth it or if I could even find a lower interest.

I need to quit screwing around and just hammer down on the payment. I like seeing money go to my savings every month...but at this point it's probably smarter to put that money towards paying it off!

As long as you have a healthy savings I would agree. Getting laid off was a rude awakening that the job security I thought I had didnt mean shit and my savings was not where it should be. It has made me think a lot about getting on better track with paying off my truck faster and getting a bigger savings put away to provide better financial security if I was to lose my job again.

I'm in pretty good shape as far as savings go. I try to only use "extra" money for mods (tax refunds, bonuses, etc) so I don't ever dip in to savings for any of that fun stuff. Savings needs to stay put or grow - I don't want it to ever get lower!
