Okay, so this morning as I was on my way to class, I was watching the road and paying no attention to my dash lights. As I was trying to drive up a hill, I noticed my truck almost seemed as if it was choking down, and that’s when I noticed the two lights on in the dash. After class, on the way to the dealership to get this checked, I guess my truck went into “limp mode”, because it took me almost two minutes just to get up to 40 mph on the highway. I remembered receiving a service letter from Toyota shortly after I bought my truck, and carried it with me. After running diagnostics, they saw that it was the air injection pumps, air switching valves, and air pump covers. It wasn’t cold outside, maybe 50, and I didn’t do anything outside my normal driving routine. This problem just showed up all of a sudden. Attached is the paper I was sent. Just wondering how many of you have seen this problem with your Tacoma? Mine is a 2012 TRD OR. It was all covered under warranty thank goodness, but from what I can tell it will only be covered under Toyota warranty on these trucks until the end of this month if I’m not mistaken 58399D1E-E6A2-47F5-90E3-77FFE6470EA7.jpg

If you search on here you will find 2012 are notorious for secondary air pump issues. Should be covered by Toyota

Your notice clearly states 10 years from 1st use. So, in your case, till 5/28/2022

Well I don’t have “secondary coverage” or at least not to my knowledge. So I wasn’t sure

Secondary coverage is what that letter is about. Yes, you have it as well as everybody else that has a 2012.

Well that’s good to know, I wasn’t sure how to interpret that note
