I do not have a skid on my truck. Mine is the 2.7 and Utility Cab. Must bye why - that or the dealer ripped me off.
I will look into using that stock number. Thanks for providing it.
So @Claudiomartinof, thanks for the offer. Are you in GA by any chance? What are you asking for it?

    My search yielded:
    Toyota 51406-04020
This part does not fit the vehicle you selected:

    Check Fit
    • 2017 Toyota Tacoma
      4 Cyl 2.7L DOHC EFI; SR5; 5-Speed Manual Transmission; Large Cab; TRN245L-CRMSKA

It may actually fit, maybe with slight modifications, but Toy just doesn't advertise that it will. Hopefully, I'll find out more from @Grouper soon

Bummer. Too far, especially if it doesn't fit. Cheers all the same!

Can you take a picture of what it looks like where the skid would go?

I'm curious too. Unfortunately, the truck is in GA and I'm in CO for the weekend, so I can't see and I can't take any photos. Maybe next week when I get back...

I can believe it prolly will fit. The chassis shouldn't be too different in that area regardless of engine. Oil filter access and such may come into play, but not a big deal there. I think Toyota is just saying it won't fit because they don't want any responsibility if it were to say, rub a hole in a fluid line or something goofy like that.
I have had the air dam off, but it was over a year ago and I forgot what all I saw then. I put it back on cuz we moved and I thought it would be best protected bolted in place rather than tumbling around the back of a U-Haul. It's still on there.
    My curiosity is definitely peaked!

Y'all know... I'm going to get back to my truck and find out that it does have a shield in place - and then will be very embarrassed!
I guess, I reacted to how nice @Grouper fresh painted one looked and immediately thought I didn't have one at all; just because it doesn't jump out at you like his does. Again, Nice Job @Grouper.
We'll see. I should say, I'll see. Because if there is one in place, I prolly won't post for all to see that I didn't know my truck as well as I thought I did.:anonymous:

Does the aluminum TRD Pro skid fit all engine configurations? I.e. on the 2.7?

What I got for cheap is the second skid (under engine) from a trd off road... OR all 4x4 have it... I’m not sure... mine is 4x2...

Made a quick side trip on my way home from visiting my out-of-town accounts. This is the winter end of maintenance on the Stampede Road just outside of the Denali national park.

The road goes back another 20 miles or so I think before it hits the Teklanika river but gets narrow pretty quickly and I didn’t think I’d be able to turn around by myself if I got stuck.

For those of you familiar with the “Into the Wild” story this is where Chris McCandless was dropped off to hike back into the wilderness. The magic bus is on the other side of the river a few miles further out into the wilderness.

    Headed back to the highway

Removed the chin spoiler today, then added F5s with no offset and 265/75r16 falken wildpeaks. All stock suspension. Next thing to do is firestone airbags and daystar cradles.
