I'm curious if some of the folks who ordered the SR models actually got the normal DRL/TRD models. If splicing was required, I would fail to understand the purpose of having the two separate options in the first place? Someone please correct me if i'm wrong but if I buy the SR model OEMassives for my SR, they're plug and play if you are okay with them having all normal function with the exception of the white DRL?

It was a joke. Your question immediately followed a question about LED DRL’s.

I wouldn’t say ALL LED’s suck, mainly the drop in bulb replacements. Specifically designed projectors such as the Koito and Morimoto bi-led’s will beat a drop in HID bulb any day.
That said, HID dedicated projectors like the RX’s, D2S 4.0, etc are a very good replacement option, but come with more challenges such as wiring, mounting, and so on.
Here’s some “HID housings” for ya:thumbsup:

I did not mention the new XB LED housings because I have no data or actual output shots.. so I can’t really speak for them. I HAVE tested and ran the other mentioned led projectors and they perform very well.

I am going to attempt to revive this old thread.

I am really considering pulling the trigger on a set of these. What's the difference between the OEMassive ones and the ProTuning Labs? Pro Tuning labs offers a 1yr extended warranty for $50...is it worth it?

Any input from you guys who are running these lights is greatly appreciated!!!

Looks like the Protuninglabs and OEMassive are the same lights.

I got mine from Protuning without the HID and I upgraded the H7 bulbs to a better Halogen bulb and they work great for me.
    Better than stock lights.
Had them for a year and so far no issues at all.
I wax them once a month and that may contribute to why I don't see any scratches or fading etc.

Thanks!!! They do look identical, which is why I was inquiring about them. Did you get the warranty?
I've been following these for a year now and the consensus seems to be that these are of very good quality.
I'm sure waxing them once a month is a good insurance policy.

They didn't have the extended warranty when I bought them, I think 1 year was the standard warranty back then.

Where did you get the trd badge for the grill, it looks sweet? Also your fog lights, are they black housing with diode dynamic bulbs?

How did putting Hids into this kit affect it? I’ve read most companies void the warranty if you do that but I already have hids and would rather not purchase new halogens.

Sorry for the late reply. Halogens suck in these lights. I have tried a toal of four brands, and rotated them in all sorts of directions, and all four brands have functioned poorly. Philips, silverstars, and two Chinese brands. I have the original HID kit that they gave me and haven't put it in, but the warranty is so limited that I wouldn't let that deter me from installing them. Ill be putting them in during the spring.

I'm looking into purchasing Anzo's headlights.
Seeing how these are similar in design, how hard would it be to do a quad retro with Morimoto's Mini D2S square projectors?
Drop in? or is it necessary to make a custom mount, like how MESO did it.

Someone just pointed out I should update the thread on these lights since mine have been through two Canadian winters and now into their second summer.

I did ceramic coat them last spring, so that may have helped them also. Plus they only get cleaned with microfiber.
But the truck is outdoors 24/7.

But mine do not show any yellowing at all so far, no peeling, fogging, looseness etc.
I do see a couple small marks from stones but very light.
Less "wear" than the front bumper facia by a good margin.

I replaced the H7 low beam bulbs with GE Megalight Ultra 130 H7 bulbs and am very impressed with the brighness and cutoff.
With our Canadian winters I'll stick with halogen bulbs. :)
SEEMS to be same as or better than the shock lights for performance,
Definetly better than OEM for looks and fit the same.
Passengers have commented on how well the lights work.

So from my experiance so far I can recommend them.

I took these pics last month when I added more layers of ceramic coating to the truck,
but since the headlights are in the pics I'll shamelessly post them in this thread too.
