Morning Lair! Had an interesting night/early morning around here! About 5:10 am I was woken up by a weird roaring/rumbling sound accompanied by the ground shaking! Turns out we had two pretty significant earthquakes about 7 minutes apart. The one that woke me up was a 3.7 magnitude! It was so surreal!

News is reporting minor damage, but just finished walking the house and garage and it looks like we made it through with no damage!

The video has a good clip of a home security camera capturing the noise it made!

    :tumbleweed: quiet in here today...

Did find some minor damage. Went to let the dog out and our screen door was not opening and closing normally, got slightly tweaked and was snagging the bottom of the jam. Was able to tweak it back slightly and get it functional again.

Its just so nice out that I’ve been working outside all day! Getting prepped for wheeling tomorrow, changed the oil in my subie and painting my shock relocation brackets.

I know you were thinking of gates idler pullies but I can’t recommend them to anyone now. So I noticed my serpentine belt was missing a ridge, so I replaced it. While it was off I checked all my idler pullies. My bottom one is original OEM and has a little play, so it needs changing. One of the top ones is a gates I replaced last august. It ALSO has play in it and doesn’t spin smoothly. So it’s on its way out. So what I want to do it replace all 3 with oem and call it a day.

Got new windows installed in the house today; took 2 hours start to finish. Not bad.

Allowed me the rest of the day to have lunch with my brother and get the shitty battery warrantied, pay some bills, relax and order some bike stuff.

I am :jellydance: of your nice weather!

Thanks for the update on the pulleys. OEM it is. I am just going to replace all 3 and the belt as preventative maintenance when the weather improves here. We got stuck in the atmospheric river and it has been raining/snowing here for 3 days now....expected to change to all snow this evening and dump the rest of the weekend!

This fix didn’t last long. Will reattack on a nice day and reinforce the area

Shame, it looked so promising too.

Guess though now with your new skills you could just add a sister piece of sheet metal to help out.

That’s what I’m thinking! I’ll clean it all up, grind out the crack and reinforce it with some slightly thicker sheet metal.

What's causing the issue? Maybe something else needs reinforcing to take load off of that point? :notsure:
