One option I just thought of for PC is to ship them to Mobtown to get coated. Their guys aren't very expensive and it is GOOD quality, and a quick turn around time. Could likely ship them, get them coated and shipped back in a couple weeks. Might not save money over local but you know it's done well.

I think the first step would be to hit up Joe and ask him to get a quote from the PC guys on it.

Still need the bumper protection from him as well. Hopefully we can work something out.

Hopefully local PC isn't TERRIBLE. IIRC, I was charged 90 for two bed bars.

Sorry man. Hope it was for the best at least..

Bad news. My educated guess is PC will be kinda expensive regardless of where you go, because they'll need to mask off the various threaded holes, as well as the inner part where the hub seats. If I had to guess (again only a guess) I'd think PC for the two parts would be $120

It honestly was. Allowed me to learn a few valuable lessons about life and relationships. Still have a rough day every once in a while thinking about it though.

Hoping the place the local 4x4 shop uses knows to do that and will quote fairly.

I’ve had good luck at CPC in Crest Hill on some stuff at work. Did some 12 foot railings for me that turned out really well.

    3 day weekend!! :goingcrazy:

Had the day off work and started it off EARLY. Up at 0500 and at the gym for 2 hours. Tried to remote start the truck from the house; no luck. Tried the old school method; no luck. Truck would unlock with the remote but not lock. Remote fob has a fresh batty installed a month ago.

Took the wife's car to the gym making sure not to exceed my time there so she could be on her way to work on time; wasn't looking to push my luck.

Got home around 7am. Helped the wife pack her things; gym bag, lunch etc and made sure she was on time and on her way. After the wife left, made sure the house and yard was ready to go and in order for the Home Depot crew arriving between 0800-1000. I decided to pull the battery in truck and bring it inside. AGAIN. Home Depot arrived at 0900.

Windows were installed and everything was finalized in about 2 hours. After that, my brother picked me up and we went to VatoZone.

I got sick of dealing with this fucking battery. Ever since the polar vortex a few weeks ago, I've been having issues. 5 year warranty came in handy today; in and out in 90 seconds. No questions asked.

    Started from the bottom:

    Now we're here:

    68CF0249-E3D0-43EA-830F-0A71BF68F52C.jpg

Battery installed back at at the house and my brother and I went out for lunch. Then, picked up the dog and the mother-in-law's house. Hung out at the house and had lunch and chilled. After he left, just did some adult things like pay some bills, do some more cleaning up around the house from earlier events in the morning, and order some bike parts to get ready for the spring. Can't wait for nicer weather.

Also, the new swaybar end links came in on Tuesday:

Thanks to @EatSleepTacos fpr the recommendation.

Wife gets off work in an hour and I think we're going to dinner!

Hope everyone has a good Friday and a great start to their weekend!!

That’s why I went and bought my new one in store. If I need warranty work, it’s much much easier!

This was way easier than dicking around with the, now, old one. Literally walked in and walked out without fuss and in 60-90 seconds. It was great.

Jumped it Wednesday and let it run. Ran it again from the house an hour later. Didn't bother with it yesterday as it was 50 degrees and then it wouldn't start this morning around 15-20 degrees. Polar vortex and the rollercoaster of temps, I would not be shocked if more people aren't coming in for the same reason.

While I'm here, I suppose I'll update ya'llon this build that takes a break in the winter.

    Received my spindles/knuckles today:

    441FA25D-7DB5-40A4-AE4A-FBA57F399CC4.jpg

What a pain in the ass this process was. Sent the money AFTER he told me the amount to send him, received a tracking number 8 days later and then after receiving the tracking number, I was told that the seller made a mistake and "forgot" to charge me the core charge initially so I owe him MORE money. Sound familiar?? (The powdercoater I used for my bumper did the same thing for those of you who are new here.. Welcome!) I ended up sending him HALF of what a core charge normally is because I'm a nice guy. But it's still his mistake. He called it a "misunderstanding" implying that it was a mistake on both our ends.

Already have some feelers out to local PC'ers for some quotes. I will NOT be using the same PC'er that did my rear bumper. FUCK THAT SHIT.
