I have front and rear auxiliary LEDs on my '08, wired to separate switches in the cab. I have added a third switch with a wigwag, connected to the other two switches.

When I turn the wigwag switch on, everything seems to be working properly. (Are the relays clicking loudly normal?)

My issue is that when I turn on one of the aux lights, with the wigwag switch off, it will wigwag the OTHER aux light. I believe this to be caused by power coming from the "on" light's switch into the wigwag box and back out to the "off" light.

I believe I can fix this by adding a diode into each "out" (but apparently also "in") power lead between the wigwag box and the aux light switches. What size diode do I need?

it would really help to show the schematic of your circuit

Then Having no idea and never having heard what a wigwag is I am sure does not help

FWIW I had a similar issue when adding trailer lights to a vehicle in the past. I'm sorry I can't remember which one now. I tapped off the tail and brake lights at one of the tail light fixtures. The tail lights would back feed the brake lights or something like that when the trailer was hooked up. Anyway, I used 10 amp general purpose diodes from Radio Shack at the time. Too bad they are all closed now.

Is a wig wag box an alternating flasher box for emergency lights? I'm not familiar with the term.

Size the diode with a slightly higher amp rating of whatever the circuit is drawing, around 1.15 FLA should be good.

Step 1: When you're using something called a "wigwag", you have to explain just what the hell it is.
Step 2: SCHEMATICS for your circuit, or nobody can possibly know what you have going on.

Diodes may or may not be useful or necessary and depends greatly on your schematics.
