it should be covered under their realization that they made a faulty SAI that everyone is having a problem with. I had mine replaced and the new one has some crazy extended warranty on it. Where did you go? I'd keep looking. Some Tundra's also have problems with their SAI.

 

if you absolutely can't get them to warranty it then I'd just buy the bypass kit. I'm thinking about doing anyways. Don't want to be in the mountains and have it fail again and put me in limb mode.

Well my truck is a mystery at the moment. The check engine light and trac light was on this morning and now this after noon is all gone? I did not clear it with scan gauge. Guess like I’m good for now.. fingers crossed.

Nope, it’s a landcruiser. 2007-2015 model year.

 

Those indicators will show up if you have a faulty fuel cap too. Double check that just in case. And as JDAM stated, there was a letter that many of us received from Toyota covering the replacement. Mine had already been replaced under my extended warranty.

That's a biased picture. I want to see a close up of the front fender. The stuffed side. I don't know why I haven't gone to dirty5's yet.... You don't even have Kings/icons/fox in the front. What am I missing on my truck?

Maybe after all this state of emergency money I'm making combined with my first head of house hold and dependant tax filing I can get on your level. First thing on my list when my truck gets out of the dealer is, CMC on a brand new frame and get my sliders welded back on.

 

What CEL code did your ecu spit out to determine it was the SAI?

99% of the time when the CEL comes on, it's the fuel cap. But a bad fuel cap doesnt cause a 2000rpm/fuel cut off in normal situations. I know there are reports of 2013 trucks having issues too, but toyota hasnt acknowledged or accepted the fact it was a flawed part of the ecu programming.


@JDAM, when you had yours replaced, did they mention an ecu reflash? Or does your work order mention anything about updating the ecu?

 

Scan gauge shot me p2443, the secondary air valve stuck in either open/closed. Same shit happened back in nov of 17, cleared the code fast forward now showed up and disappeared on its own

 

How many miles you got?

 

87k. It threw the light first time at 69k

 

2443 was the only code present tho?
