TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Well it all comes to a screeching halt. I didn’t get either of the M10 studs to mount the idler pulleys. Would anyone happen to know what size or specs in terms of length these are? I am really screwed now.

 

You could call Magnuson and see if they’d over night them to you. Finding the studs locally might be a challenge although you could check the specialty hardware shops.

 

BTW, it took me about 30 minutes of time on the truck to reflash from NA to TRD tune. A shop charging $250 is out of their minds. 1 hour maximum labor.

 

Guys thanks for all the help. I am going to call Magnuson tomorrow and see if I can get some parts overnight. I am missing more than just the studs. I am missing both small spacers on the outside of the idler pulleys, some additional m10 nuts fine pitch and others. I also don’t have any sort of foam seal around the intercooler inside. All my own ignorance, just thought the full install kit included everything. Now to get some rest.

Honestly, I am not sure what would happen. I stressed out that when I was cutting I ended up cutting through some of the cords but yet my cut was still in the grove. The I looked at the other side and noticed that the factory edge was the same way. If anything, I would think that it would maybe just start to fray in time. But I have been running cut belts on this truck for 6 years. But I am glad that the fleetrunner belt was discovered so I could quit cutting the race belts. They are just way to expensive. Especially since I am always changing something out.

 

I guess I should have been paying attention to this thread. I still have the ECU out of my former 2010 taco with the 4.0 and the TRD flash for the supercharger that was on it. $135 shipped.

Assuming you aren't including the collapsing engine mounts into the frame.

 

That Luk clutch might not have crazy clamping forces. They were good clutches though.

Compared to the '08 plus Aisin clutches, which kept tearing the hubs off of the disks.

They corrected over the years, but the Luks were solid. Aside from any of the associated year model woe's.

 

Speaking of, I still need to gusset my engine mount areas.

Lol and I am in my own drama in the CBI folder. Lol and yes with a 3rd jenner.

 

If I can cut a belt right on the first try you can ace it no problem.

 

Also pushing 10 psi with 2005 factory head gaskets. They those are known to be bad...
