Fun fact, ethanol fuel can eat away at fuel lines if it wasn’t designed to have ethanol fuel in it

Not very fun, but definitely a fact. We see this a lot in the boating world.

Cutting costs by using cheaper made parts, results in a bigger loss down the road.

New vehicles are the worst thing a consumer can by.

Why is it so difficult for auto manufactures to build a quality product?

Yet another reason to not take your vehicle through a car wash.

If a vehicle can't handle a car wash, I probably don't want it.

If it can’t handle a car wash, how well can it handle road salt?

There aren’t too many other products that are more complex than a automobile. There’s hundreds of supplies to coordinate and regulate. Huge capital investment for tooling through many different vendors. Hundreds or thousands of workers to manage. Also, it’s very seasonal. The product has to be to market by a set deadline. That makes dealing with issues very difficult. Layer all of this on the fact that the regulations and technologies are changing constantly.

If it was easy there would be a lot more companies mass production cars.

Those are all valid points. Sounds like the auto industry sets it's own hurdles. Some manurfacture should introduce a model and name it a Recall.

It’s the only product that seems to be getting more expensive over time. I think they should stop changing the models so often. Toyota is one of the few manufacturers that lets the model manture. But even then, the economy of scale doesn’t seem to be working in the favor of the consumer.

He who is without sin may cast the first stone http://www.carproblemzoo.com/recalls/toyota-tacoma.php

Besides, competition is the best thing that will ever happen to the Tacoma. You can be damn sure that without it there will never be another update to the platform.
