Anybody in CO Springs here? I’m dying up here, need a dirt fix and thinking of driving down. Wondering how the trails are doing.

You know what... I'm gettin' real tired of you comin' in here and posting pics of that truck... It's scratching at the part of my brain that makes REALLY bad financial decisions... you monster.

Your truck is fancy... I want lots of stuff it has on it. That is all; carry on.

P.S. Any Texas dudes wanna head to Spider Mountain on Sunday? I'm curious, so I'm gonna go check it out. Super beginner in mountain biking, so it might be a nice easy introduction to downhill parks, as my goal is to step up to larger spots this summer or next. Aiming to be there at opening-ish (driving down from DFW, so we'll see how that goes, LOL).

I'll be the idiot rookie riding a much dirtier version of this.

Just be loose man. Dont overthink it. You won't be the fastest and other guys will be faster than you. And That's ok. Just pre ride and push yourself, just don't have regrets you could have pushed harder.

The simple truth is your hardest will be someone else's slow speed. Manage expectations and appreciate how fast guys are, enjoy yourself and the great community of cycling (and beer)

Nice man! I am really digging Transitions.. I think I would've ended up with a Sentinel if I didn't get my Yeti on a sweet Black Friday deal. Looking to buy a Transition PB&J soon I think :)

Last year was my first enduro season. Prepare to get your ass kicked by everyone, and be glad if you place ahead. At the end of the day, you got to ride your bike!

Also, learn how to feel comfortable on fresh/blind trails. Often times, for me anyways, is only a limited number of practice runs I can take advantage of because of timeframes. Enjoy the company of fellow rad people, and enjoy a good beer post race!

Some races have an enduro saturday/DH sunday. My favorite is to race Saturday and heckle Sunday!

Depending on how well you want to do...

Ride the trails ahead of time as much as possible (if possible). Time is made up in the turns (brake early versus too late), flat/traverse sections(mash here) and the punchy climbs (mash if you can).

Work on incorporating more "sprinting" in your riding.. and pushing yourself when you're tired. Once the stage is over you can rest :)

If you can ride the trails ahead of time, just knowing the stages is a huge plus. Knowing when a turn is coming up and what is leads into, when you need to save some energy to sprint or when a punchy climb is coming up is a great advantage.

Cool shot from an enduro race last year

I know you guys just touched on it, but i'm really interested in swapping out for a full Sram GX Eagle drivetrain. Those of you running them, can you give your likes/dislikes of them? I live in an area where you can't ride without doing some pretty steep hills, does it provide a good enough range for these climbs? Thanks, and look forward to hearing your guys' thoughts!

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm not expecting to be anywhere near the top but I think it will be a ton of fun and hopefully I'll learn a thing or two.

I have GX Eagle on 2 bikes, and XT on the third. GX has huge range, and you're much more likely to find the right gear. It's touchy sometimes, and gets knocked about because of the long ass cage which leads to shitty shifting until you go and fix it. XT is much more consistent, smaller cage, easier to set up and keep true, double up-shift, more defined clicks. But it has fewer gears, smaller bottom and top gears and you're less likely to find that perfect gear.
Basically reliability goes to XT, range to Eagle. A lighter bike or if you're fit, I'd say XT. Enduro sled and steep climbs, Eagle.

I have Sram GX on my XC bike and XTR 11 spd on my all mountain bike. I'd take shimano over the GX any day of the week. I'm honestly not impressed with 12 speed. I wear out and have to replace a $75 chain every three months which is pretty lame.

I'm looking into possibly purchasing my first mtb. I'm coming from road bikes so looks like I'm headed to the dark side. What do you guys think of scott spark rc?
