My cousin got this buck last year outside of San Diego. They’ve (he and his brother) been hunting out there for 6 years and only gotten one buck each.
They do pretty well with ducks though.

yeah I have some friends in Bells Tx. They are everywhere but usually when we go through there we dont have time to hunt. I plan on staying a few days in the next couple years to hunt some hogs.

Yeah we have a decent number of hogs here but you guys in the south have a major problem with them.

supposedly none here in Idaho. But there is a ranch close to me that has them, I dont know if its fenced or not. Just seems like something that would get out of hand if not monitored....

Is that a 6.5 Grendel? I have been debating wanting to put a rifle together in that caliber but don't want to go bankrupt buying brass for it.

Yep Grendel. Hornady brass is reasonable and works great. Or you can buy Hornady ammo on sale for not much more than empty brass.

Got some range time in earlier today. Sighted in my dad's new Tikka T3x and got to shoot my 6.5 Grendel. I was either really on it today or that Tikka is just on a different level than my 700 cause I shot incredibly well. The Grendel is always fun to shoot too, it's just a son of a bitch to carry around. The old camp Marlin 66 made an appearance too and it always shoots great. Overall had had a great afternoon!

My T3x lite in 308 will make 3/4" groups at 100 w/ federal gold medal match. They make great rifles for sure.

So I've got some weirdness for you. I received the Steiner OTAL-C today and got it set up on the AR pistol. Since I moved my Surefire light to the pistol to make room for the Inforce on the carbine, I moved the dual tape switch as well, so now I needed a tape switch for the Holosun laser on the carbine. The Holosun came with a 12" lead and I have a spare Insight 12" lead from back when I had a PEQ-2A. The Steiner came with a 7" lead, which is great because the 7" lead on the dual switch was perfect for the placement of the Holosun.

    Here's the weirdness:
When I plug the Steiner lead into the Holosun, it is constant on. It turns on when I insert the lead and off when I remove it. The Holosun works fine with every other tape switch I have (including the Insight), and every lead works perfectly with the Steiner. There is just something with the Steiner lead that does not play well with the Holosun.

My first fix was the easiest - run the Holosun on the pistol and Steiner on the carbine. No can do because the Inforce light and Steiner mount interfere with one another. Total PITA. Looks like I will end up with some creative routing of the 12" lead on the carbine...
