What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I have my yeasu 7900 set up between my seat and the left upright column for now. The faceplate I used zip strips and put on my emergency brake. No drilling. the unit itself cant go under the seat where I had it in an older model because the heater cooks it.

 

Added BPF Grill and 20 Rough Country Cree LED this morning.

 

How did you secure the charger for the Streamlight?

 

Installed TRD Pro style Depo tail lights. Overall I'm pretty happy with the quality and price.

Supposedly no. I was too lazy to make my own harness from scratch and the iJDMToys has a built in fuse and relay and was about $15.

 

Installed the OR Bilsteins today. It was my first time working with coilovers, coming from trucks with solid axles and torsion bars. It went fairly smooth until I got to the rear shocks. Toyota must've torqued them at 500 ft. lbs. I decided to cut the nuts...

Overall verdict - Why didn't I do this sooner? So much smoother, not bouncy at all with the Wildpeaks. Now the 2 hour wait on a Saturday evening for an alignment.

Drilled using a long self tapping screw, I used a small spacer for the screw closer to the seat to give it a bit of an angle. I checked first and there is no wiring under the carpet in that location, will be replacing the current screws with stainless hardware that bolts thru cab floor.

 

Washed, Clayed,sealed and waxed......

 

Busy weekend... installed the black TRD exhaust, removed the front air dam, and had the hood scoop & front bumper wrapped in 3M matte black vinyl. Now to decide on the next mod... PRO tail lights, TRD skid plate, or wait and save for the Morimoto LED headlights coming out soon

I picked up my BAMF 20* sliders from powdercoat yesterday. Black semi-gloss micro texture.

 

Truck looks great, I wish I had the nerve to try the clay bar on my truck. White letter tires look great as well.

I put my full din scanner in the console (see build thread) but it’s pretty much set it and forget it. If your arms are long enough a magmount on panel above glove box is one site I’m scoping. If you take it apart you can see where the airbag deploys and mount below it’s path. I’m also scoping the roof console mounted ahead of the off road knob. I use the Qi charger (yes it works if you position the phone correctly with a thin OEM case), but clearly that spot is a simple clean install.

If your standard route is through the same repeaters you can do most adjustments through the mic handset. Most heavy users seam to mount front and center top of dash, excellent for adjusting, I’m just not sold on the location.
