2001-2004 simply moved the bolt hole horizontal so the sway bar link needs two ball joints instead of one. I think Toyota changed it because the 1995-2000 design was killing the rubber bushings too quickly. Still easy to make disconnects:

It looks to be a fair distance away from the CV boot. 2nd/3rd gens will rip the CV boot for sure if you remove one of the links, because the links go over the CV shaft and attach to the spindle.

Ah okay, I was mistaken, that’s great!

I’m going to look into that, I’m sure I could find some good hardware and fab something up, I don’t want to take my swaybar completely off for insurance reasons.

Technically? I had a mini ramp in here my dad and I built when I was a kid for skateboarding, we dismantled it and used the plywood for other stuff around the house when it sat for a few years.

Is that because you’re lifted? I’ve never heard of doing that

Yeah. Similiar to doing axle shims but instead of the pinion being angled it’s at the carrier bearing and tcase.

Oh neat, I guess that’s easier than dropping the axle for shims. Those are the little things you don’t really think about lining up when you’re considering lifting I guess, at least I hadn’t.

How do you have a zerk on your rear shaft? I thought the 3rd Gen didn't have any on the rear.
