I love my salomons, but they didnt stay waterproof for very long. They have a lot of miles on them now though and need to be replaced.

My experience with their stores haven’t been positive. Rather “snooty” IMO. I liked their loggers, but $250 for a non-USA made boot that they didn’t want to re-sole left a bad taste in my mouth.

Red Wing 3507's here. I've had really good luck with them over the years. I'm on my fourth pair in 12 years. I spend most of my time at work on non-skid steel decks and stairs. The only gripe I have is the laces don't last very long so I usually swap them out with some laces I bought at a random outdoor shop. One of the pairs of laces has gone through two pair of Wolverines and two pair of Red Wings. I wish I'd bought a couple more sets of the laces at the time.

4th pair of Red Wing 405's and never looking back. Not made in USA but for $180 a pair and lasting through a solid year+ of abuse they are my favorite work boot and daily footwear. Comfortable, dry, warm, breathable... awesome for everything except compact snow/ice. Have had danners, wolverines, keens, georgias.... there's a reason Ironworkers wear them.

Boot allowance at work only sweetens the deal.

I just bought a new pair of Danner Vicious boots last weekend that seem pretty good so far other than needing a bit of break in. I switched over from Keen after the last 2 pair I had started having all the stupid little rubber bits on the side come loose and flip everywhere after only a couple months. If these don't do it I don't know what to try next, I need something waterproof because i am outside in the rain quite a bit but then I'm crawling though tight areas on planes where I want something more soft and flexible.

I wouldn't use it either! Probably hang it from my rear view, then shatter my windshield.

@bobsuruncle ever try Hoffman boots out of Idaho? I've been using them for years and have always been happy.

No I haven't. Oh btw, Malory has plowed the mainline, not sure how much or where to, if you haven't heard.

Hmmm well being a sparky means probably not working for the rail...... but to be fair I buy the moc toe flat sole boots, which @CBenfell are made in the USA (made sure before hand) I’ve never had a problem with them and they’re the most comfortable boots to wear on concrete slabs all day

Didn't even put that together. I play volleyball in the summer with a guy we call sparky.
