What would Jesus do? Trade in for a manual, or pick up this BRZ for $11,500?

Trade the auto Tacoma in for the manual. If you are the kind of person that loves to drive manual, you won't be happy without it.

That is assuming you aren't going to put yourself in the poor house doing so. I love my manual trans and I'll own one for a long as I'm physically able to, but it's not worth compromising your financial security over. But if you can afford the hit, do it. They aren't going to offer the manual forever. The fact Toyota has offered it on the Tacoma this long is pretty surprising to be honest.

The more I thought about it, im not a die hard manual driver. I’ve been spoiled with really good manual transmissions and rev matching features that only sports cars can offer. I’m a little nervous to try the manual Tacoma and become disappointed.

Dude is this even a question? Keep the auto and pick up the BRZ. Auto for when you're not digging having to row gears in traffic, etc. BRZ for throwing gears and curves. And now 2 vehicles with a huge mod community / potential.

Whatever you do definitely test drive it first. Its still a truck that's for sure. A sports car with a stick and a Tacoma with a stick are two very different animals, some people are die hard gear rowers with sports cars but not with anything else. I really enjoy a truck with a manual but it isn't for everyone

    No prob dude.

I think you'll love having the ability to pick and to mod / change attentions to different vehicles when you get the itch. I miss having my street bike for those days I just felt like riding to work, same when I had my 2002 S2000 and my 15 Taco.

Plus you can always sell the BRZ later if it dosent fit satisfy the row / fun itch.

Good point. It’s tough to beat a bike too, that’s for sure. I frequently miss mine... but then I remember I also like keeping my head on my neck.

This is what keeps me from buying one again. If I wasnt in save mode for my first house / grad school, I'd have a BRZ or something similar to go along with the taco.

Exactly, too many close calls. Doesn’t matter if my bike is acid green and my helmet is pink, drivers can’t see me when they’re texting on their iPhone.

Sounds like you’ve got a good head on your shoulders though, if I were smart I’d probably
buy a house over another vehicle, but hey, only 20 something once

Exactly, not worried about me and my bike, but the person social media finger f**king their phone driving next to me. Ya I'm 33, so its time to do some adulting now, used to have a new truck every year or so, new bikes, toy cars, I'd say do it while you can bud.

You don't need to win to have fun. I don't think I ever won when I did autox years ago but it was a blast.

As others have said, for the 6k you will lose on the trade, just put that into your cheap fun car, brz or whatever. Then you have a great combo!

    Good Luck

Oh I did too, I wasn’t being completely serious. Autox is fun even in last place. I more raced against myself, but I’m also competitive. That’s why I want to get back into someday.

You’ve got a fiesta ST though?! That’s the second car on my list, those cars are too fun despite looking like an egg
