Why? I don't understand why people keep talking about IP. Who is going to sue them or anyone else for using the IP or name? Pelfreybilt is gone

I'm just happy to be a part of the Jberryfanclub

    Intellectual property, not internet protocol.

It’s a legal standpoint I believe. Even though bankrupt, their ‘ideas’ are considered IP and the transfer, or lack of, for another company to copy or duplicate.

Not a lawyer though, maybe someone else can chime in.

It would be like you buying a box of Legos, then Lego suing you for selling it after you put it together.

You are correct with the caveat of patent ownership. They would have had to apply and been granted patents for it to matter.

Intellectual Property is considered an asset with value. If someone steals your IP, you can sue.

Thanks. I actually just stopped by. Still plenty of stuff left. I was there for my brother but he never got back to me for what he needed. So I left.

I'm sure none of Pelfrey's products were Patented. Patents are expensive and you would need one for every different piece of armor or product they had.
It's truck armor there is nothing new or groundbreaking about it

The IP is supposed to be sold or divided by the Trustee
The only IP I can think of is the name Pelfreybilt and maybe some CAD files. But who wants the name Pelfreybilt?

As far as what Jlee is doing. buying a product then finishing and selling it. I don't see an issue with the trademarked name as long as the customers know.

    It's like what @3Six said
People buy and sell trademarked items everyday. The problem comes when you try to confuse the customer. For example, instead of selling a Lego kit put together. You claim it's a "one of a kind work of art" you created and Lego had nothing to do with it

But i also don't see an issue selling it under a different name as the product wasn't complete

Either way what @jberry813 and @JLee did was epic. thank you guys for picking up the pieces of this shitshow and trying to right some wrongs done by the Pelfrey's
