Scored a set of aluminum running boards off of a 2016 PRO for free. Just cost me the gas to pick up, hardware, and some skin off my knuckles.

Installed my new to me shift knob. I would like to paint the silver portion white.
(don't mind the wires, still doing testing of the navigation head unit)

I pulled the radio out again so I can check on better placement of the GPS and XM antennas.
I looked at the roof to see if it's possible on mounting a low profile shark fin. If I drill a hole, it will be very hard to get to the nut to tighten it.
It will look weird if I mount it in front of the dome lamp and I was going to sound proof that area.

Maybe I can get a wrench in here to tighten the nut.

The same shit everyone else has.
Are those custom CH4x4 switches under the hvac label?

Just leave the gps antenna tucked in behind the head unit. I tried finding a fancy place to mount mine but it is not necessary - functions 100% up under the dashboard.

Installed the Redline Tuning QuickLift System this AM. Pretty slick! Toyota should have included hood struts as standard equipment. RedLine Tuning Hood Lifts.jpg

If you are referring to my post, yes they are CH4x4 switches. I presently have both antennas mounted under the dash with double sided tape. I have no issue with GPS, it's the XM signal that I keep losing.

Looks like rains have stopped for a few days here in San Diego. Decided to wash and detail before next round of rains. Also detailed engine compartment. Finally installed a custom made heat blanket that I had one of my vendors make for me (note sample?). One of the perks of running the purchasing department for the ship yard I work for. Don’t think it does squat for performance but I think I looks cool.

What do you use to clean/detail your rubber hoses like for the radiator? Mine have dirt stained on them from wheeling that is frustratingly stubborn to remove.

Are you installing aftermarket or an OEM unit?

I run a marine XM antenna for my aftermarket unit. I retain signal usually even inside parking decks lol.

If you pop out the dome housing is it just solid metal on that bracket underneath or is there space to put a socket to tighten an antenna down?

Believe it or not but I use this product called Awesome from the 99 Cent store ($1.00 per bottle). Deluted 50% with water. This stuff is really awesome (no pun intended). Finished off with Meguires Supreme Shine. Best two products I’ve come across.

I bought a Toyota navigation head unit (didn't want aftermarket) and there is a solid bracket behind the dome lamp.

It's in, light bar fits super tight for a 32".
Purchased Amazon brackets for 27$, had to drill the holes alittle bigger for the crash bar.
Purchased the bar for 40$, opened it up and resealed for condensation.

All in all pretty happy for 70$ setup, now just need to wire it up

Hope you have good luck with those. Mine have been trouble getting balanced. Replaced one that was so bad road force balancing did not help. I'm still not completely pleased.
