Danner bull run moc toes or red wing 875/877 gets my vote. Comfortable on on concrete but absolutely useless in dirt or snow

 

Calling the electrician on a ship "Sparky" is usually an insult The 3507's have the electrical and puncture ratings, they're also made in the USA. I sailed with a guy for a while that had a son working as a cobbler for Red Wing.

 

The only boot that holds up to building high rises, I just get them re soled and stiched. They all have multiple years out of them. Made in usa, and yes the stores even turn there noses up at us Ironworkers. They do have a 6mo exchange policy if any part fails.

 

Hadn't heard about mainline. All our work right now is up by Gypo Junction out of Granite Falls. Still thinking It's going to be awhile before we can get up there.

 

I know exactly what you mean, union discounts, free laces, good customer service, 95% of the jobsite wears them for a reason.

 

Damn now those are broken in boots. Do you run insoles? Also where did you get them resoled?

 

no insoles, run them till they fall apart, resole, repeat

 

I did at first but found them more comfy without when im on iron all day. I have some really thin ones for running around on concrete. Hasn't broke my arches down yet but my feet are solid calices on the bottom almost. The Old Asian guy around the corner resoles and re stiches them for me. He even puts the patches on where I rub through the leather.

Those are the insulated ones right? Dont they have a built in insole? I agree on your usage tactics.

 

Yeah they’re the insulated waterproof ones, maybe they do have a built in insole of some kind? Never paid much attention, all I know is if you work on a hard surface all day, they pay for themselves

Welp.. I changed the ball joints just a month ago to deter from this exact thing... for it only to break the bolts.. what luck. Any tips on getting this thing up on a trailer ??

Wouldn’t be so pissed about it if it didn’t fuck up my panel.

hah 1 mile away from my apartment in Lynnwood.. are they all interchangeable? Or do you just happen to have a 1st gen one lol

 

This one is off a 2nd gen... I'm not 100% that they're the same. And now that I think of it I don't have the bolts you need.

 

I think my lbj is still good aside from grinding on the ground it’s the studs that broke.

 

Can you get ahold of a tow dolly from uhaul and a bunch of blocks of wood? You could jack it up off the sliders and slip the dolly under it, then block up between the frame and the dolly.

 

The trailer that my buddy is bringing doesn’t have smooth ramps they have like V’s for the bracing all through out it if that makes sense. Maybe we’re looking more at a road side repair..
