You must be a special one. They don’t give a copy of the credit app just the legal binding contract and other dmv forms . You need a copy of your own social and job history and income that we send for approval to the lenders ? Fucking keyboard clowns

Sorry to hear what happened. CA tweakers is the problem. I live in this failed state also. I had to move to a different neighborhood to get away from the crime. Got to where you couldn't even leave the sprinkler out on the front yard. I would come out, turn on the water and nothing at the end of the hose. Finally sold the house and moved clear out to the other side of the city. Good luck Brother.

I think it’s safe to say, some dealerships do things differently. Moving on...

Looking ahead, here are some good practices to follow-

don’t keep paperwork in your car that doesn’t need to be there. You need proof of insurance, & some states require your car registration. That’s it. No other personal information should be in your glove box for a thief to take.

I always recommend a camera system, but in the end, a theft only takes seconds. It might get you some evidence for the police though.

Alarm systems help a lot. If a thief is looking for an easy target, he’ll move on if he sees or hears an alarm.

Don’t ever leave anything of value in plain site. Most cars that get items stolen are either left unlocked, or have left something of value in plain site.

Just curious. I assume they opened the door after they broke your window. The alarm didn't go off? Ask me how I know in a middle of night in a crowded campground.

I like it. I can put my MacBook, iPad, SBR lower, and some other stuff in it whenever I need to leave those in the truck.

If you received a credit app copy that’s not something we give out unless you ask for it. Not typical dealer practice to give you a copy of a form we use to get lender approvals

Look into a front and rear window dash cam with some sort of parking lot mode (motion activated). Possibly could have gotten a face shot of the perp for the police to use.

Doesn't the alarm sound only if the door was locked??

I've left mine unlocked over night at some camp spots and mine never went off.

I've been wanting to get a front & rear cam, mainly for when it's parked, but I would assume that a thief would see it and take it as well.
Most are not at all stealthy, and haven't seen many that don't have some pretty bad reviews mixed in.

LA is pretty huge, basically bigger than most states.
I was in the southbay and probably the safest town was el segundo, it was like mayberry.
In Hermosa and Manhattan Beach you'd get the "shoppers" coming in from the neighboring inland shithole towns.

I moved out from nyc and the rule is don't leave anything in a vehicle that might entice someone.
If you have to leave stuff in it then make sure it's stuff that won't break your heart to lose and if possible don't make it obvious stuff is in there. I have a cheap set of tools that are in a case on the rear floor and I keep the ralph's bags on top of it so it just looks like shit on the floor, and limo tinted windows help to hide stuff even more.
