Couple decent pics with the new wheels and tires. Super happy with the combo.

I cant wait to see the truck with the cab rack and shell rack back on it. Once the snow stops, Ill put it back on....

DIY bed slide info as promised -

    - 1"x2" and 1"x4" frame
    - Garage door track
    - 3/4" MDF board
    - 1"x2" upper frame
    - Bed liner

The frame is 1x2 and 1x4. Its bolted to down to the bed in the front and back. The frame is smooth and the bottom side of the MDF is also smooth. I coated everything in urethane so its water proof.

The garage door track just keeps the MDF straight when it slides. The MDF slides smoothly over the frame.

It has a stopper so it only slides out so far.

It works great for loading/unloading camping totes. Plus its a nice flat place to slide out and work on and makes a nice flat place for a sleeping pad when I camp. I wouldnt sit on the overhanging piece, but it'll totes full of gear.

I may end up adding some sort of bearing system eventually, but it works fine just sliding in and out.

Built a mount and installed a set of Hella 500 Black Magic’s behind the grille.

I’ve been wanting to do this for years and finally did it after finding a set on Facebook market place for cheap.

I still need to wire them up. I should be able to tomorrow.

And once it warms up above 25*, I’ll paint the mount.

I might try to raise the mount up a little to center the lights in the grille a bit better.

Cleaned, vac’d and wiped down the interior yesterday.

    Organized some shit -

Added a strap to the rear platform to hold my fly rods.

    upload_2019-2-11_0-24-23.jpg

    upload_2019-2-11_0-24-49.jpg

This can’t created more storage room under the platform on this side.

Organized the passenger side and added a tire plug kit to tow strap I already had -

    upload_2019-2-11_0-26-27.jpg

    upload_2019-2-11_0-26-50.jpg

    Slowly collecting recovery shit.

I tweaked the Hella 500 mount to center the lights better. I wrapped it in black vinyl to hide it until it warms up enough to paint -

    upload_2019-2-11_0-29-48.jpg

    upload_2019-2-11_0-30-16.jpg

It sits way tighter around the latch now.

    upload_2019-2-11_0-31-39.jpg

It’s sad how dull they are compared to an LED light bar or even the 35w retrofit. Don’t really care since they were installed basically just for looks. I may upgrade them to a drop in HID at some point but for now they’re fine.

Next up in the immediate future -

    - add seat bracket spacers
    - replace amber rear blinker bulbs w/ red LEDs
    - replace front blinker bulbs
    - design a power tailgate handle release
    - finish swapping all the interior bulbs over to red LEDs

Couple pics from last weekend -

I added a power tailgate popper to the truck this week.

I added a new set of ditch lights. Replaced the pods with a set of side shooters.

I swapped out the bulbs in the Hellas for a set of yellow LED bulbs.

I added a set of 1/2” seat spacers.

I swapped the rear turn signal amber LEDs for red ones.

I swapped the front tunsignals LED bulbs for new ones that match the corner marker color better.

Ill post more info and pics on this stuff when I get a chance

    Trimmed front mudflaps -

I removed the mud flaps and drove around for a week without them and hated it. You could hear all the shit slinging off the front doors.

I was determined to fit them back on with the 285s.

Here’s what I came up with

    upload_2019-2-17_15-28-27.jpg upload_2019-2-17_15-28-47.jpg upload_2019-2-17_15-29-6.jpg

Happy to report that they’re clear the 285s just fine now.

Here’s a shot of a stock set for comparison. You can see how much was removed from them.
