How much would a device that keeps your backup camera lens from getting dirty be worth to you? It would need power.

    Simple question.

That's a very generic question. Would completely depend on form, function, install difficulty, is the mod reversible?

It only needs to be cleaned once in a while so I would say not much. Especially if power is necessary.

Which is why I'm asking lol. To me it's no big deal but several people I have polled think it is.

I think some will like it, but some won’t want to mess with it. Still interested to see info.

You would never see it, install would be about a two beer difficulty and absolutely reversible.

Depending on how clever the solution is... I'd take a random stab at $50-$100... $100 seems to be the pain threshold when spending money on the truck. Anything less than that takes little to no thought. Others thresholds may vary.

What if it were OEM? Would that be a feature you would like?

Like the concept but not needed as I have swing outs that block the camera and never used it anyway. Still intrigued to see what you have.
    Edit: $29.99

I think if it was a cheap add on it might not be bad. But seriously I probably clean mine once a month max. Even with dirt and road salt I don’t get it too dirty. I’m sure people that live on dirt roads and stuff will clean more often. I am more worried about scratching the lens honestly. That would suck.

I've definitely got a patentable concept. It could be easily designed to be an aftermarket add on but I think the only way I will go through the patent pain again is to have an OEM buyer. I'm just checking the temperature here. The demographic of this forum is far harsher on an idea like this than the general public would be I think.

    For me, $0.00
I’d still be interested in seeing what you have in mind. I’ve seen more than a few complain about a dirty/wet camera. Your idea could get some traction.

Condensation/ water are more problematic imo.

The quality of the head unit screen isn't great to begin with, so dirt isn't an issue.

As far as how much is it worth to me?

Water/ condensation on the lens is annoying, and makes it difficult to rely on the camera, but not enough for me to do anything about it other than just wipe it off.

    Fwiw.
