I bought a new 2019 Tacoma SR5 in the cement color 2 days ago. Today while cleaning it I noticed that on both sides of the truck towards the bottom the paint is a slight different color and the texture is bumpy. I’ve read that Toyota does this on purpose, but what I’m conccerned about is the different shade of color down there. I’m not sure if it’s normal or not. I attached some pictures so you can see. upload_2019-2-17_18-32-26.jpg

More than likely it’s just the way the light is reflecting

I thought the same thing. But I brought it in the garage and it was still a different tone. I just want to be sure, first time owning a Tacoma.

Every Tacoma has that finish in those areas, supposed to protect against stone chips.

Something every car and truck should have-- it's a clear plastic film to protect from rock chips.

I am not that happy with the paint quality on my 2018 blazing blue. A few weird spots. I think that is the way it is with the paint the have to use now days...

8C2FFDE2-02E5-4CD7-99E5-E023C27C3D8C.jpg Mine started out the same color down on rockers at chip guard after 6 months the chip guard area now is more beige than cement. Toyota says normal. Best friend owns a body shop for the last 38 years. He looked at and said the chip guard bleed through paint/chip guard absorbed paint. Chip guard wasn't fully cured, before paint was applied.
