Hey guys, been wanting a Tacoma for a long time and I finally got one. Anyone got any tips and tricks for this newbie? I wanna get into off roading but I need some good gear. I'm willing to spend on some reliable stuff.

Also, I'm here in Utah, kind of new to the area. If you any good spots or trails for beginners. Please let me know.

Get some sliders for protection. Some better tires is also a good choice.

What if I got the Nerf Fab Steps? Are those as good as sliders?

Not even close, you will want sliders.

Nahh you'll RIP those puppies off, they are mounted to the body. Rock sliders bolt or weld on to the frame, they are a solid investment. Get some good AT tires while you are at it. A popular size is 265/75-r16 BFGAT KO2

Nope. Nerfs mounts to the body/rocker panel
Slider bolt or weld to the frame.
If you are going in the dirt get the sliders

You live in Utah with some of the best off roading. Go hit up a local meetup, get some ideas and meet some people. Don’t go out buying random stuff.

Sounds like a good idea. I'm trying to find the most active threads where meetups happen a ton for SLC.

^ someone said it above. The regional sections are the best to find out about trips, events or just tips really.

I've been to Moab but not in the Tacoma. Just got it like 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Maybe @Gunshot-6A can give you some tips. He is up there in Utah, out of town this weekend, but should return soon.
