    What are you all using for a portable air compressor? Want to get one but don’t want junk or too expensive. Also, compact is ideal. Anyone have any tips?

    I have a VIAIR 300P. Got it off Amazon for just over $100 off some deal they were doing. I love it so far, fits nicely behind the backseat also.

    Cheap viair 400p auto

    Better arb single / twin / portable

    I ran the 400p auto for a year or two and picked up the arb twin portable on the last group buy. Really depends on your budget and how much you are going to use it.

    I've had mine for a few years now and I have zero complaints with it. It's cheap and does the job.

    I'd go with an OBA setup if you're constantly airing up and down though if that's your thing.

    How long are the cables that are on it? I just need something to put in the tote in the back for emergencies or if I deflate the tires a few pounds from off-roading.

    I have had this one for 6 years and has yet to fail me and it's been heavily used on full size trucks and class A rvs and more by family and friends.

    Also don't buy it from Amazon. Check your autoparts store first. I got mine for $40 at pepboys

    I was looking at the Viair 400p myself. Currently have a POS craftsman that blows the fuse in aux/cig plug. My next one will have a direct battery connection.

    That’s exactly the feedback that I was looking for. I was afraid that fuses would blow on some of them. I think I’m going to go with the
    $98 Viair 88p Portable Compressor Kit (12V, 120 Psi, Forup to 33" Tires)
    Viair 88p. That seems to fit my needs and budget the best. I don’t think the 300p would be worth it for me, at least not for the price.

    I’ve got the 88p. Amazon has sales on it sometimes and its down to about $50.

    I ended up getting a separate tire filler with a gage. That helped alot.

    I made a stand for it with a small 1 gal tank, pressure sensor at 120psi and cut off relay. I used a 12vdc supply i had to charge rc batteries when i was into that sort of thing. The power is wired to some battery terminals that i hook up to the 88p. Now i can use the same conpressor for all my tires (lexus, hand truck, wheelbarrel, tacoma, etc). For air tools i need a larger tank and more duty cycle compressor.

    I also bought that hose kit from viair. I ended up getting my own hose i made with quick disconnectors for use in garage. I only use the hose kit off road.

    Cordless for me with automatic shut off--im lazy. Have a couple of craftsman and now a Milwaukee and both work great, although I'm sure there are many other brands that do it (originally bought them when I had the power tool systems).
