Purchased from who? The wheels and tires were already mounted? You bought them and installed them on your truck?

    Better details needed.

so you didn't get the mud on your tires? oh hell no! I would definitely raise hell about that then! no question. it looks like someone half ass cleaned the tires, which in my opinion is where the scratches could have come from. my tire installer, and most installers now days use a touchless machine. so that this doesn't happen. I know some places still use the old style, but I don't go to any of those for tire work.

I bought both the tires and wheels from Toyota dealership. They came in separately and Toyota mounted and installed them. I didn’t even look at my old sport rims, I’m gonna take a peak in the am!

No, I did not get mud on the tires. Yeah I’m pretty pissed off! I have pictures of it when I picked it up showing the mud and scratches under the grease.

I doubt they went off-roading. Most likely dirt on the shop floor and poor handling of your purchase.

Seems pretty minor. Not worth the energy to worry about.

I really doubt those scratches will lead to corrosion.

That said I recently had my dealer leave a few small scratches on my bumper when they removed it to install a new lower grille (which I broke, so that one was on me). A $20 touch-up pen will solve the problem since it's all plastic but because I went back and spoke to the manager regarding it I got an offer to get the bumper repainted or get a $300 service/parts credit. I took the credit but mostly I was happy that someone took ownership and tried to make things better.

Don't go in there trying to shut the place down but be reasonable and polite and you should get them to sort it out for you.

not saying they went off roading, but I highly doubt the mud came from their garage floor. that is quite unusual for brand new tires. I would ask them for sure though. just be polite. being an ass right from the jump will lead to more problems. I agree, I don't think those scratches will lead to any corrosion though. there are wheel repair places out there than can fix those and you would never even know they had been scratched.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Same thing happened to me at a Honda dealer on my S2000. Long story short, they admitted damaging the rims, wouldn’t correct the issue, and I sued them. They bought me new wheels, paid court costs, as well as for another shop to mount the new rims. Don’t settle for sub standard work.
