I would put fresh oil in if it's the same shit from the overheat. It breaks down rapidly in those conditions and becomes more varnish than lubricant

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
5vz-fe starter torque spec. Anyone know it?

(Edit) nevermind. There's no f'n way you're going to get an accurate torque on those bolts... Which is probably why I can't find it

    Holy shit man. That rake.

Reminds me of when I had a 3” Lift in the back, and 0” in the front.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm rolling with. I just replaced the rear with Dakars and 5100s and got about 3" of lift, and the front is still factory for now. I've been impressed with how the Dakars handle a load. This was the level with a yard of compost in the bed.

For anybody that has done valve cover gasket replacement on the 3.4L, do you remove the front cam bracket to clean the FIPG and reinstall or just leave as is?

    20190217_202454.jpg

Didn't see any mention of it in previous writeups but wanted to be sure I get it all while I am in here.

Awesome day of wrenching today! MAJOR thanks to: @FirstTimeFirstGen (for driving all the way from Sac to help) @Blue Canary @CalTacoma09 @duncnasty @Pella And @foxrcing07 and @BartMaster1234 (for the valuable phone a friend support) You guys are fricken heros! Got the rear main seal replaced. Flex plate torqued... (I would highly recommend cleaning the old thread locking compound on the flex plate bolts, then re-apply red lock tite) Before After We swapped the black dooma-wiget from my old trans on to the new one. Got the trans in. Torque converter bolts torqued to spec. Starter re-installed and torqued. We also modified the Tcase by cutting an ear off under the shifter (the ear was where the arrow is pointing) Had to crack the case open. We needed to get to this part right here. There is a pill shaped detent that needs to be removed, that looks like this. Modifications to the Tcase were to allow this to work. And we also replaced the 4 bushings on the shifter (from @Brice). Cut the hole for the Tcase shifter, and replaced the bulb with a blue LED from @csjumper2003

Today I installed 1.25” wheel spacers on the rear. It looks like the driver side sticks out a little more than the passenger. I took some backspacing measurements and it seems that everything is correct. The only thing I can think of is the axel being off center for some reason. Anyone ever experience this?

I don't need a crazy winch bumper, it doesn't affect my day-to-day driving. When I drove stinkbug it profoundly impacted the way the truck looks and my visibility out front.

I'll get to it when I get to it. It was too good of a deal to pass up, so I snagged it while I had the means to.

Just clean the FIPG off it. You don't need to unbolt it. Ad a dab a directed and you're good

Thanks. The manual indicates to add the FIPG there, but I saw no mention of removing it.

You clear away any old liquid gasket and apply a small bead to the corners. It helps to seal the valve cover.
