Yes and no. It is behind where the amp is but there is a steel tube in front of it so it does not come out from that panel when deployed. I was also concerned about this till I found the video below. At 2 min you can see it comes out of the upper dash be hind the amp an metal tubing.

None yet... that's why I'm here.
@siKjiTz I've got essentially the same setup. I'm working on installing the Key this weekend (still waiting on a harness to arrive) Where did you ground your amp?

These harness will take care of that.

Could anyone direct me to a more detailed wiring setup for using the metra harnesses, Kicker Key and OEM head unit? Want to use to OEM power and ground setups via the harness. I'm getting no power to the amp and no volume control available on the head unit.

This may help. There is a couple of other threads already on how to wire the harness. Try googling it.

Looks like my problem was the purple remote turn on wire.

Any issues with heat wince your last post?

I'm going for the glove box and crutchfield cautioned me to find a place with more air flow.

I dont see how under a seat would get much airflow though.

I ended up just putting it under the radio and haven’t had any issues. My harness was a little shorter than I liked so I decided not to put it over the glove box.
I drove around with the dash open for a couple days to check how hot the amp gets before mounting and it only gets slightly warm so you should be ok. I also put the mic in the glove box so I can show people how it sounds before and after the auto eq. Hope this helps.

There is actually a notch in the panel you remove to change the air filter and the wire fits nicely in it so you don’t have to drill anything.

Did anyone get a slight white noise hissing from their tweeters after installing the kicker key?

Yep. Nearly everyone. Cut the gains down till it goes away. You’ll still get plenty of volume from it

That means gains like 4 or 5 or less?

And yeah, that's how i set it and it still is loud AF.

    What causes that?

I've been running mine in the glove box. It's almost too hot to touch after a 20 min drive.

The inputs are super sensitive because they can be used with clean low-level sources or less clean high level sources (like our radios)
Sometimes there is just noise in a system. It’s a cheap amp when compared to JL and Focal and Hertz and so on, so we deal with a bit of hiss and higher gains.
Most people just turn the gains down till they can’t hear it anymore, and still report plenty of volume level, so no worries!

What volume are listening at? I had the gains all the way down and 40 volume for my testing.
