I will be replacing my plugs at 60k miles the first time and see how they hold up. I Never had any intention of taking the air box or intake off as it looked like they could squeezed out as you have outlined. Thank you for the verification and write up post OP, you get an attaboy :D

I work on cars for a living, so I try to flatrate anything I can without compromising the repair.

I thought iridium plugs are supposed to be 100k plugs...or close?

Could be the injector cleaning cycle or just an over abundance of caution to prevent cat damaging misfires. I agree it seems like an oddly short interval for modern plug designs. Pretty cheap insurance though and an easy enough job for the more mechanically inclined owner.

The dealership recommended they be changed at 60k, I’ll be doing them in a week or two when I go in for my 100k service. I’ll ask for them back to see.

Is the factory service interval for the plugs actually 60k or 100k?

    How did they look?
You mind me asking what the dealership wanted $wise for this job?

The cost for the plugs seems reasonable

Did my plugs this weekend, perfect guide, thanks for the help. I tell you though, some of those bolts on the drivers side were hard to get in and out.

    Indexing is new to me.
    Makes sense

I wouldn’t want to buy extra plugs though or the using a washer way

Curious if someone can comment on the outcome of indexing on these trucks

I think it would be a waste of time on a normal, daily use vehicle. I can see it in a race engine where the smallest improvement in power can decide between first and second place.
