Went out to San Lorenzo Canyon today with my wife and the in-laws. It was a nice, short, fun trip. Definitely found some good future camping spots.

Be careful when camping there the area is subject to some flash floods in the summer.
The road and terrain has changed a lot, been going there for a long time.

My wife is more than happy to watch our minnows while I fish. I've been getting the itch and usually start hitting the water again in early-mid March. I'll post a feeler when the time comes.

I am happy to take people, or discuss via PM, but I learned my lesson long ago about posting good fishing spots on the internet.

    As Tom said... YES.

Haven't been out on the road for about 4 weeks, but have been walking the new pup regularly and taking the camera along. I figured I'd share some pictures from my "on foot with canine" adventures. Sometimes it's easy to forget that we live in a city bordered on the east by wilderness, and bisected by a living forest.

Thanks, Stephen. He is a handsome fella. I can't take him anywhere without people falling all over themselves to pet him and ask questions about him. 41 lbs. today at 5 months old.

Nice pics Nick! That pup is growing quick! Are those first pics from the south foothills? How were some of the trails there in the foothills? I've wanted to get out on the MTB again but a buddy of mine was saying a couple weeks ago they were pretty muddy and snow covered still.

Yeah, the first shots were taken near U-Mound at the top of Copper. That area is fully melted, and I saw very little mud. Michael Emory trailhead (top of Spain) still has some snow on the north facing slopes, but is mostly dry. I've been to a few other areas recently and the snow is 90% gone, with just little patches here and there in the shade.

I'd say get the bike out and go for it. There were lots of bikers riding near U-Mound on Friday.

Alright guys so my buddy and I are planning on making our yearly trip out to Telluride for blues and brews September 12-15. Its kinda far out like 6 months out but we plan on hitting some trails either before or after the festival.

I'd like to start planning a little bit because I'm crazy. So two things.
    1. What trails other than Black Bear, Imogene Pass, and Engineer pass would you guys recommend in the area (red box)?
    upload_2019-2-19_19-33-9.jpg

    2. If there is interest before or after that time period (September 12-16) maybe we can all plan something and get a group together like we did in the good ol days.
