I just spent way to much time reading this thread, but it was like a novel that I could not put down. When your next list opens up I want to join the "custom knob club (CNC)".

2/25 at noon (eastern time). Be there or be square. That is when I plan to drop the order form link, and may be able to take more than 10 if the custom engraving demand is low.

    Not right now there isn't.

Every batch gets a new link (so the data gets routed to a brand new data sheet). In a perfect world I would open it for folks to mess with, but I feel like it would just cause massive amounts of confusion. All of the same information is more or less in the first post of this thread.

Finally ... all tracking info has been sent out (except one for an address issue, but I should be able to figure that out when I drop off today).

Everybody should have their information, if not let me know.

Also a few pics posted of this batch over the weekend on my instagram (linked in OP). I didn't get all of them, just focused on snapping pics of configurations that I haven't had great pics of yet.

If we just want the MT boot retainer for other aftermarket knobs, do we have to wait for other orders to open up? Or what is the process to get one of those?

Thinking about getting the old "retro-style" TRD ball knob and that retainer you 3d print looks like it would be cleaner looking than just using a rubber grommet.

How high does the retainer hold up the sleeve, if at all? Or will it slide down pretty much like putting the grommet on would? Nbd either way, just wondering where it ends up. Any pictures on someone's truck?

Edit: Also, would love to get rid of the chrome on the collar (trying to get rid of it everywhere I can on the truck!). I see many pictures where you guys don't have that anymore. What's the best way to do so if I'm going with the knob I linked above?

As of now there is only one MT retainer out there, and here is a picture of it. Stuff like that can be ordered whenever (through PM or email). I have nothing in stock so it would be about a week or two before I had the parts in hand.

I could develop something to replace the chrome collar for aftermarket knobs, but there hasn't been enough interest for me to move forward with it.

Ok no rush don't even have the knob yet, so no need for the retainer. If/when I'm ready I'll send over a PM.

@tonered What did you do to de-chrome your collar in that picture?

As mesojdm attested to, the chrome plating is ridiculous. It is very hard to rough up. I used some sand paper to scour it as best that I could and just used some matte black spray paint. You can see it in my previous pics posted here with just the grommet mod. The upper corner did chip off in a couple spots, but the visible area with @7r41lbr34k3r 's collar looks just great.

Derp would also work, but you'll have to do many coats. I was done with two coats of paint in a half hour.

And more apologies. I will get nicer pics when we have a nice, sunny day and my wife isn't hogging the good camera.

I think I remember someone saying the quick and dirty way is just put a piece of black electrical tape around it. ;)
