Dealer says tire size change will cause dash light to appear

    According to the service dept. all the electronic features that have to do with speed will show an error on the 2019 Tacoma. It cannot be recalibrated but it can be turned off.

    lane changing , emerg. stop ,blind spot , etc.

    Another thing. I asked about a skid plate being a problem for oil changing (dealer MUST do oil change for lifetime drivetrain warranty) they say it takes two people to align the spacers and bolt holes and then retorque them, that will be a extra cost.

    The only time we charge extra for them is the super long ones that go from bumper to transfer case.

    Life time oil changes are a loss already and they have to manage that.

    The tire thing is BS, we just advertise it may not function as designed.

    Find another dealer/service department. The skid plate is 4 bolts and doesn't take a genius to install/uninstall. As for the safety features, how can Toyota offer multiple tire sizes on different models and yet the sensors still work? You've been lied to.

    That sounds like a BS dealership way of getting you to perform maintenance at their service department... I’ve seen dealerships “offer” free lifetime drive train warranty it you perform ALL manufacture recommended service at their dealership (on time and mileage)... it’s a scam for the service department to make money.

    I believe that “offer” is a dealership specific warranty... seen a lot of those type offers recently, just another service department promotion.

    The sevice dept says the TRD skid pan bolts are 5 and 1/2 inches long. True or false?

    I don't have a TRD skid but I doubt it. The factory skids mount with little tiny bolts, maybe 1.5" at most. My steel skids mount with way beefier bolts but still only about 1.5" long.
