I took my truck in for the 5k, they told me my cabin filter was getting dirty, just as a primer for when my 10k shows up so they can sell it to me. Little do they know my cabin filter is not easy to get to... you have to remove a metric shit ton of shit from the glove box... then force out the OCD organizer (mine rattled so I felt taped the edges till it was very hard to get in and out.

I didn't sign anything. They have signs in the shop saying you get a lifetime drivetrain warranty at THAT dealership IF you let them change the oil.

I suppose... I’m past the point in life of doing my own vehicle service. $81 p/yr seems reasonable to me, especially if the dealer is going to cover drive train issues past 60K... considering my wife’s MB GL550 alternating annual A/B checks cost $450 and $650 respectively.

According to the service dept. A light will come on. You can mod it anyway you like , you just have to be aware the light will come .on. If you choose to NOT buy the pressure sensors that go in the tire ,nothing will happen except you will have a tire pressure warning light come on. It's like that.

Why do you have to buy the sensors? My tire shop just swapped out the ones from my factory wheels to my new ones. That dealer sounds sketchy, yikes. As far as I know SR5 and above all have factory tire pressure sensors, and they can be swapped to aftermarket wheels/tires.

I'm willing to do the offer. I drive about 15k miles per year. I'll more than likely keep the Tacoma a long time.

They’re full of crap. You can lift it and nothing will happen. If you get new wheels and don’t swap the TPMS sensors you will have a TPMS warning light but that’s an entirely different issue from a lift and easily fixed.

If you want the tire pressure sym to work for a long period of time those sensors need to be replaced over time. They are expensive on some models.

I called this dealer to see if the warranty details say anything different than my dealers They say it is free if they do the oil change.

    www.toyotaofkirkland.com/kirkland-toyota-lifetime-warranty

None of that is legally binding, it’s just advertising on a webpage. Without a contract between you and the dealer stating what is and is not covered you don’t have much to stand on.

The stock "tin" skid plate is under the "TRD" skid plate. The front two bolts are removed and you use some spacers and long bolts to attach it so the TRD style skid comes out under the front bumper.

I only helped install it once on my buddies truck, so my memory of it is a little fuzzy.

I can’t find the true “requirements” page... you stated the need to perform oil changes at this dealership, however I’ve only seen similar offers which require ALL manufacturer recommended service be performed at the dealership. Are you certain only oil changes are needed to qualify?

Below is a GMC dealership with the same type of warranty offer... requires ALL service be performed:

Changing tire sizes alone won’t cause dash lights.
Did you put an aftermarket skid plate in or are you referring to the one that came with your truck?

I was interested in the TRD skid plate , my truck does not have a TRD skid plate. It goes over the factory plate.

You should definitely get the policy in writing... there will be requirements that you must meet to continue qualification... absent a signed contract, you must obtain a written policy to verify both parties obligations. And then, such policy may be changed and/or canceled anytime by the dealership.

Here's another interesting thing. I buy tires at COSTCO. They will not put a different size tire on anything. They go strictly by the tire size decal on the door. They have a sign saying that if you change tire sizes the speedometer will read incorrectly , they will not be involved in any lawsuits over accidents because of this. I guess I you killed someone by sp[eeding a good lawyer would say why didn't COSTCO tell you in writing you would be traveling faster than the speedometer actually reads out.
