Hey folks,Im looking at getting my first tacoma and looking for advice on either new or 2nd hand vehicles.What to look for etc.

Im based in Vancouver and wondering if anyone can recommend a good dealership?

are you looking for a 2016 or newer Tacoma or going for an older one? what are you thinking you want to do with your truck?

 

either 2016 or older(What year did they fix the rusty frames?) Looking for something for road tripping and getting up logging roads to trail heads.Again im a newbie so any advise much appreciated.

 

I think the recall went up to 2010, some of the guys in the states got notices.
You can get a bit better MPG with the newer gen - 2016 but they will cost you more to buy.
If you could find a good low km 2014 or 2015 they are very capable trucks.
2016 you can get an Offroad with crawl control and rear diff lock, Hill descent control.
Are you looking for a 5 foot bed or 6 foot bed ? Double cab or access cab ?

There is a 2015 in Vancouver for not a bad price, prob a bit of room to negotiate. SR5 4x4, 6 foot box. Double cab.

Test drive both the 2nd gen and the 3rd gens. Engines are quite different and drive differently.

I would just walk into the nearest Toyota dealership and see what new would cost. That way you have a baseline for looking on Kijiji or any other used trucks. Even sitting through a sales pitch might help you get basic info about the Tacoma.
