You and I both. I am on 91 performance , with "medium" sized tires 265/75/16, throttle tip in is way too aggressive for my taste. This is a preference, NOT an issue, it is called performance tune after all. I do love the quick and precise shift on this performance tune though, it just pulls nicely up to speed. The wife said "why are you going so fast?" I was only going 40, but the snappy acceleration suggests I was moving much quicker.

I plan to flash 91 base after work, hoping for less aggressive tip in, while maintaining the quick and precise shift.

@OVTune or anyone else who might know

If you have covered this before in this thread or elsewhere please link me to the post because I couldn’t find it by searching.

1 - On the stock tune, what does ECT mode actually do? Is it one specific map, or specific maps for D vs S mode? Or is it a basicaly a change the logic of the transmission and ECU more or less completely separate from the normal drive modes? Does it have the same effect in D and S? If feels like there’s more linear throttle response and feels like it lets the truck hold gears longer and downshifts less in D and S.

2 - Are there any changes to ECT mode with the 1.05 tune without the shift lock addition or do all 1.05’s have shift lock?

Easy with the red crayon big guy. :) He's probably asking because it's one of the tunes downloadable for 04B04 in flash manager.

Unfortunately, I still have not gotten any further. I was able to fix the first 2 problems with the help of some others here but this last problem totally stopped me. I finally broke down and sent a help ticket via zendesk and hope to get a reply tomorrow. I have installed and uninstalled FM 14 times with no joy. Hope you have better luck.

I have basically written off "flooring" the truck ages ago. It will take some time to get used to doing it :rofl:

    Thought I was alone lol.
I flashed 91, unhooked battery for 10 min. Went for a drive.
    I was EXPECTING a little better 1.06.
I feel like I got INSANE mode by accident lol. I'm heavy with bigger tires. I'll let it settle in. But it's ALMOST too aggressive lol. Not a ding. He's done some amazing things with this truck.

The tip in with 285s is aggressive I cant imagine what that is like on tiny stockers.

Try the 87 performance tune. Might suit you better. Running that with 32s and its very aggressive compared to previous 1.05. I like it! :)

The base is mpg tune. On the 285s it was a little sluggish to me. Huge change to the performance. It might be better on the 30in ers
