Line out converter placement

Where are you guys connecting these two? I would imagine before the tweeter/door speaker split right? If you did it behind the dash, what wires would you tap into? I know it goes to the speaker wires, but what color are the wires for the front and rear (and sub if anyone knows?)

 

Most people do the rear speakers. Just tap to them in the back. No mess behind the dash

 

Keep in mind you'll get noise from the engine from that setup. Unsheilded amp input wires=noisy signal in=noisier signal out.

 

Engine noise from the line out's themselves or from the placement? I was looking at options like the LC6, but also trying to keep it cheap. Upgrading to Rockford Fosgate 6.5" Punch 2-ways. Going to see how they sound no amp first.

So where us the best place to connect these?

I put mine behind the cupholders before I got the rockford fosgate processor which is under the seat. I got noise behind the radio also but when I moved them behind the cupholders it was gone.

are you using one two channel loc or multiple? here is the example. if you are running 1 one channel loc...just take the front or rear two speakers left and right wire and wire it to the loc and you can signal* to your amp.

 

Resurrecting this thread. What's the best way to tap into those rear speakers? Would you guys recommend connecting both left and right to the LOC? I mounted the amp under the driver's seat. Trying to keep the sub install as easy and clean as possible. Thinking tapping into the speakers behind the deck is going to be a pain.

Yes. Connect both left and right. Open up the door panel to see which wires go to the speakers. Either tap into there and run wire, or trace where the wires run into the cab (through the main wire harness) and tap into there. Do for both sides. Whatever is easier for you

 

When I was using one I put mine in the bottom of the driver side be pillar behind the trim. That's also where the rear speaker wiring harness ran through at, so it was easy, for me.
