Thanks, but no. We in California will just go it alone. Having the 7th largest economy in the world and not having to subsidize other states by paying more into Fed taxes than we get back would work out just fine for us.

Although curling is intriguing... Oh! Canada...

    Haters gonna hate.
There’s a lot of dumb stuff that happens here, but California is still awesome.
There’s a reason we have some of the highest property values in the country.

What happens when your neighbors cut off your water and electric supply?

Upside for us is dumping moonbeam and Hollywood.

It's spectacular geography. But earthquakes, massive fires and mudslides are heartaches.

You won't even be able to self insure.

An economy that would crumble when it loses 35% of the electricity required and a large portion of the water supply.

1 trillion dollars for a state...we're currently 22 trillion in debt or so. So we only need to sell about half our country to get out...

If Canada buys Montana for $1 trillion, would they have any money left to extend "the road" through there?

A matter of opinion. Property values are high cause of the coastal locations but go inland and your people can’t even get water to their house...in America. Much $$$$ but no common sense.

The states public utility filed bankruptcy because? I’ll wait.

Don’t throw us into it, throw in any state in the salt belt! They’re wasteful with their perfecly good Tacos. We still run 1st gens and older Toyos offroad in perfectly good condition here in California.

Take away California’s senior rights on the Colorado’s river Compact and the 4.4MAF water then the hydroelectric they receive from other states and that economy may not be entirely sustainable.

I’d much prefer to keep Montana to the lower 48 and offer other states up.

Florida comes to mind. Give those sun deprived canucks the much needed sun and sand! Hopefully they can help change the stigma of Florida Man and the cape of WTF!
