God...I thought this stuff was over-with. Guess the media frenzy sizzled out.

I haven't received any notifications yet. If & when I do....I think I'm gonna offer them a trade. They can have my stinking floormats if they give me some free filters!

I gave my floor mats away when my Weather Techs came. I hate carpet floor mats. They are beyond useless in a truck.

I'm serious, they swaped mine yesterday. Put a smaller gas pedal in.

I pulled my '06's out the 1st day. Traded it in two weeks ago ..... tossed them back in prior to that ..... made the truck show so much better.

Pulled the new ones out too.

Dealer called me today and I am wondering if I should get this done. Does it affect how the truck drives, does you foot slip or miss the smaller pedal? I don't want to regret having the work done and would appreciate any reviews on the matter, esp for the three pedal drivers ;)

    Do you guys know.....

While you're in there getting your pedals cut down....

Are they doing that change to the programming that shuts off the throttle when your foot is on the brake? I can't remember what that was called.....

^ I hope not, but I will definitely ask now. ebrake+Gas+clutch is necessary on some SF hills.

I was at the dealer a last month for a "new" owners dinner (hogies, chips, salad, soda and water).

They spoke about this "brake over ride" that was being put in all "new" vehicles and they said that if your vehicle did not have it already, you would be getting a notice about getting it then they said trucks are NOT getting the brake over ride. I asked which trucks they said "We have been told that all trucks are NOT going to get brake overrdide".

I asked why not do it to trucks, they said "Toyota says it is not gonna be done on trucks". The service manager and lead tech did not know anything more about why not trucks.

They gave stuff away to everyt body. I got a couple of ball caps, tire tread depth gauge, tire pressure gauge, a couple of plastic watter bottles (which tapper at the bottom so thy fit the cup holders), a metal water bottle, and 2 cupons for a free car wash, the wife snagged a polo shirt.

Just had my truck in at the dealer yesterday for the tranny TSB.

I was informed that there is an official recall on my truck (Canada) to have the brake override installed and gas pedal modification. Notifications are going out in the mail.

I told them I did not want those mods- just the tranny ECM flash.

Actually, I told them I don't want GM f'ing with my gas pedal! The dealer did not have a problem with that.

Truck shifts much smoother! I am happy with the results.:)

BTW: The first thing I checked was that they hadn't installed the brake override- they didn't.

So I had the work done and the invoice has a brake over ride on it but I can't tell it's installed. Parked I can gas and brake. Both fist and second gear I can apply the brake and still accelerate while braking(not too heavily). Perhaps the brake over ride only works when you floor the brake, or travel at higher speed, but I did not notice any difference.
