for the most part big boys for the dudes rolling 26x16. but there’s a few 32/33-35 sized wheels. these are 285/70R17

 

What lug nuts did you used? I used the one on venomrx website, and my installer said those lug nuts were only able to grab 4-5 of the threads on the stud.

Just installed these. On stock suspension and on new 265/70, they rub at full turn.

 

I too, used the lugs from Venomrex's website. I installed the lugs myself and didn't notice inadequate contact with the studs. I re-torqued after 60'ish miles, as per Venomrex recommendations.

Did your installer have any thoughts on the matter, or was it more of an observation? I'll pull one lug today to re-evaluate, but I think they're good to go.

 

So I pulled a front lug nut. Your installer wasn't far off. I get 5 1/2 revolutions to full torque, @ 85lbs.
Obviously Vorsteiner / Venomrex doesn't think there's a problem with this, and it isn't as though this is their first wheel. That said, I think I'll be ordering some ET lug nuts for piece of mind, especially since I do off road the truck. That should put around 8 revolutions to full torque. I think I'd be comfortable with that fix.

Edit: Went ahead and ordered the ET lug nuts.

He said it should be fine for highway and wouldn’t recommend HEAVY off roading. I had them installed on Thursday and then left on a trip so I haven’t had time to check myself yet.

Yeah, I’ll probably go get some ET lugs too.

 

I'm gonna go have mine installed later today, were you rubbing on the air/vortex thing or fender liner?

Also, about the lugs I'm not heavy into offroading, mostly very mild trails, I should be good to go right?

 

Not sure, but highway seems fine. I did a 600 miles around trip over the weekend and did a very short snow run with pulling a few cars out, and they seem fine.

 

Let me know what you think, I've been considering them for my stock TRD wheels. Wondering if they stick out and how far.

 

Because of my wheel design, for all intents and purposes, I'll never see them. I will however, hit you up with what I think of the quality.
I've had Gorilla branded lugs in the past that I was less than impressed with. Shitty chrome finishing, to be specific. Might not mean anything in an application where the lug will never be seen, but to me could translate to an overall shitty lug nut.

Call me crazy, but I worry about these little things that hold the wheels on the truck. lol

 

not shocked, sometimes simple is good.

 

A couple years ago a Dodge lost his front left tire driving 70 on the highway right in front of me. Luckily he was able to get off the road safely but man it was scary. Lol his tire kept rolling along the median for another 1/4 mile. Ever since I have been VERY careful. Thanks for the info. I have only heard good things about Gorilla brand products.

 

a friend had a wheel come off a boat trailer in the opposite direction at 65-70 it hit the median like 1/4 mile infront of him, shot straight up in the air and came down on his drivers headlight / hood.

 

That's sounds awefu....... but I would have loved to have seen it.

So this is the exact stance I'm looking for on my new TRD Sport DCLB. What's your best guess as to what's going on here? Lift? Level? Tire and wheel size? Offset? I know it's hard to tell from the photo but some of you guys have a ton of experience and can pretty accurately determine what's up.
