No apologies needed, just trying to help define my level of ignorance.
    I'm somewhere in this range:

    But not this low:

And I would probably try this method before yanking on the winch line.

What years did you serve as President, and when did you make your first BILLION? Just curious.

Oh c'mon Don. You're not allowed to get triggered. You're not a millennial. I'm pretty sure it was intended as a joke. And :gossip: lots of people dont like our president. No reason to get angry. A lot of people dont like lingua. Doesnt seem to get to @Fernando. Breathe man. @TOP TACO we need some good vibes for Don over here

Triggered? Hardly. Angry? Perhaps a tad. For, in his attempt to show his intelligence, he proved just the opposite, and for two reasons.
    1. The President is quite intelligent, despite what others may spew.
And 2. He brought politics into the thread.

But I forgive in both instances.

Lol. Had some dude anchored to me and he kept jerking (ya ya ya) me. Even my son knows better than that. Somehow the winch still worked. Another buddy of mine did the same and his winch crapped out on the spot

I'm guilty of having done this myself but one of my favorite things about TW is it's lack of politics.

I used my winch a bunch last weekend. While I was using it I was thinking about shock loading. I gave it some gas and got some traction which took tension off the winch line, then lost traction and slid backwards and shock loaded the line a tiny bit....but I could see how it could shock load a lot more.

Would I be better off in that situation to just let the winch do all the work and just give some throttle to get the RPM's up to give the winch more power?

I need better tires for snow. The ones I have suck.

Thats how i would do it. Slight gas amd let the winch do your work. I have a cheap shittybuilt and it hasnt gave up on me. Im sure a minor tug may be ok. But straight yanking will fuck your shit up

Lol, you reminded me of a song i used to listen to a bunch.
"And by the time that I was twelve, I had made my first million.
And by the time that I was fourteen, I had found the cure to cancer.
And by the time that I was fourteen, I was the president of the country.."

Wow Don I meant no offense man, that was in no way directed at you or even trying for politics.

In my defense I wasn't attempting to sound intelligent, but quite the opposite. I was making a joke about my ignorance. I also didn't say dude was stupid, smart people can do and say ignorant things.

Saying a public figure is ignorant is not political in my eyes, but judging by your reaction maybe I should rethink that.
